I originally wanted Eva Cassidy Songbird, however after all the Whitney hype I heard a song by her I had never hear before and it is "I look to you" so I am now considering that and then for second dance The Proclaimers - I wanna spend my life with you - for a bit of fun xx0

Me and oh cant decide what song to have. We dont have a slow romantic song, we have little songs we sing to each other but none are really first song material!! There was one song that oh suggested when he was drunk and I actually think it would be very good (its dancey but then goes slow) but oh isnt sure now!:wall:
A friend commented that we 'had' to have a slow romantic song, but to be honest I would rather not have a first dance than dance to a song that doesnt have any meaning. There are songs that will be played throughout the night that have meaning to us, they just wont be slow lovey dovey ones!!:D0 -
We're having Iris by the Googoo dolls. It means alot due to some stuff that happened many moons ago! Also has some really nice words. Could cry just thinking about it!Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

I think you should have what ever song you both want - the day is about you and not everyone else so if "Sex is on Fire" is your song - you rock it out. Even the old dears may surprise you and rock it out with you0

Adele make you feel my love, the words are just so appropriate and we have loved the song since we first heard it0

I like that song Hollie - but she says 'I know you haven't made your mind up yet' in it! A bit late once you are already married!May GC - £100 per week

Cheekyherb, we are into music and it took us age to find the 'right' songs. The final list we decided on is on Olokia's recessional music thread. Go with what feels right to you as a couple, not what people expect.May GC - £100 per week

I have always been a massive Darren Hayes/Savage Garden fan and therefore have always thought my first wedding song would be 'Truly Madly Deeply' or 'I knew I loved you' but I have found those to be a bit obvious to my family and friends and we are wanting to choose something else by him.
So, On our shortlist currently - 'So Beautiful' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HpA7UZvWdc&ob=av3e
And his newest one 'Bloodstaind Heart' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZlFIKYIegg
If I win the lottery between now and my wedding I am going to pay for him to come and sing it live!

Our first dance was Smooth by Santana (well, the band's cover version, anyway) - meant out "awkward shuffle" at to be a little more lively, but seemed to go down pretty well.
This has been "our song" for about 10 years - since we had a diplomatic discussion about which song should be "ours"
