Try the INTU mens sprays from poundland, 2 for a pound.

Its very much like lynx, if you done a blind smell test im sure you
couldn't tell the difference between say the 'smooth' one in the black
and brown tin to that of Lynx dark temptation, but all 4 fragrances
    are very nice.

If i didn't know any better I would say its the same stuff but in
    a different tin.

    This stuff..

Thanks for the tip! I shall have a look out for them next time I'm in Poundland! x

Was thinking about what things we don't/wont economise on in our house.

    What about all of you?

Value cider, that's my standard and I won't drink anything cheaper.

Also head and shoulders type shampoos. I don't have dandruff but the only shampoos that don't make my head itch are head and shoulder and any supermarket "look alike" type.

It must be something they put in, or leave out of it.

The only thing I will not touch is 'value' cheese especially cheddar *shudder* otherwise I will buy whatever is cheapest, tastes nice or works well of anything. I will buy own brand cheddar too but often the branded ones work out cheaper with offers and coupons. Also I prefer to buy free range eggs but will sometimes buy barn eggs as they have to meet a certain minimum requirement and it may have changed now but a few years back many 'free range' hens were kept indoors for 23.5 hours a day and often were not subject to the same strict welfare standards as barn hens xx

Head and Shoulders has the complete opposite effect on me. No dandruff naturally, but when I have used H&S, chronic dandruff and itchy scalp, no other shampoo does this to me.

    Same here.

Things I won't economise on are:

    Copparberg cider
    Walkers cheese and onion crisps
    Free-range eggs
Liquid soap but it can be Palmolive, Dove or Nivea, whichever is on offer
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • I never buy supermarket meat, always get it from the local butchers as it's much nicer and not pumped full of water.
I always buy free range eggs, never ever get barn eggs.
Mostly try and get organic milk, I never get that horrid skimmed basics stuff, yuk!
Deodorant I always get mitchum, rightguard or sure. Anything else seems cruddy!
Kitchen roll, the cheap stuff is crap and you end up using a lot more.
Washing up liquid, I nearly always buy Fairy but I've gotta say, I tried some cheap Easy Aloe Vera one and was really impressed seeing as it was £1 for two big bottles but can't find it easily so stick to Fairy.
Toilet roll, I never buy basics or cheap cheap brands as it's a false economy. I've gotta say though, that I do buy that Nicky 3ply quilted stuff because it's great stuff, much better than the tescos own that my fellas mum used to get for twice the price.
Shampoo & conditioner, I always use Naked shampoos because everything else seems to make my hair dry & greasy or irritate my scalp.

Think that's it but I'm sure I'll think of more...
  • Wont consider own brand/value of:

Shower Gel - just seem to use more so false economy
    Sanitary products - ditto?!
Cola or fizzy drinks when bought
    Coffee
    Cooked sandwich meat
    Bacon/Sausages

Just buy whats on offer of above

    Also have to get:
Heinz tinned soup, Ketchup and baked beans
    Fairy Liquid
    OXO Stock cubes
    Elmlea long life cream
    Johnsons ear buds
    Bic/Gilette razors

Everything else I can think of can or has been compromised on! Home bargains has helped a lot recently, have converted from Andrex to Nicky loo rolls and from Lynx to their generic mens deo spray (55p a can :))

My sentiments exactly definitely on the sugar in peanut butter. I buy Whole earth and I dont think I have seen the one you referred to. Where do you get it from please?

Sorry - only just seen your reply :o. Amazon are stocking the All Natural Peanut Butter Company old-fashioned crunchy and smooth at the moment (got the name wrong the first time, sorry!) - it's so nice. I was also buying it at Sainsburys up until last week, but I can't find it on their website at the moment. It's about £2.30/jar at Sainsburys.

Tip I learnt, store the jar upside down, saves having to stir it every time you open it!
