Hi I'm looking to exchange some Tesco vouchers before the end of the month and was wondering if I would qualify for the 2000 bonus points as well as the 900 points per £2.50?

This is a copy of my current Avios statement:-

    Date Description Avios collected
18/11/2011 RECALCULATED TO NEW CURRENCY 9,657
09/10/2011 Lloyds TSB AIRMILES Credit Card 2
08/09/2011 Lloyds TSB AIRMILES Credit Card 2

The strange thing is it also shows my balance to be 10730 which obviously doesn't add up.

My question is whether the transfer from Airlmiles to Avios counts as' earning an Avios point in the past year'?

I've left this right to the last minute so have no time to make a further purchase. Any help would be much appreciated.

No it doesn't count (well it didn't for me anyway). The condition doesn't seem to be you have to have earnt in the last year though - the Avios site says "You can take part in this promotion as long as you are an Avios member who has collected one Airmile/Avios since 01 December 2010." - which you have.

Thanks Callum9999, I was quietly hoping someone would say that! I'll have to give it a go anyway as I've left it too late to do anything about it.
  • Good to know, thanks callum9999 and caz3121.

Just transferred my bmi diamond club miles to my BA account.

Go to ba.com log-in to your exec club account and then 'combine my avios'

I'd like to do this as well. I have just opened a BA exec club account but I already have an avios account with some points on it. I really only want points on one account. How can I ensure that I transfer the bmi points to my avios account rather than the BA one? Can I transfer the points through the avios website?

You give them your Avios account number not your BA account number?

Presumably to transfer from BMI you have to do it from the BMI website? You can transfer from Avios to BA Executive Club from the Avios.com site (and vice versa) but I've never seen a mention of BMI on either of them.

Yes you can do it through the BMI webpage. But the link takes you to a BA page https://www.britishairways.com/travel/combine-avios/execclub/_gf/en_gb which won't recognise avios account log-in details, only BA exec club ones.

I tried phoning the BA number on the BMI site but they said in their recorded message that they were too busy to talk to me and cut off.

Than transfer it to BA then transfer it to Avios.

Good - it seems a bit pointless having the BA Executive club and Avios.com schemes, but I guess they are slightly different!

I've just got interested in this for the first time! For me it's just Tesco Clubcard vouchers and flying no further than Europe and not for a few months and preferably from Manchester.

I've got £9 of CC vouchers that expire on 31/8 that I must use but plenty more besides.

Before I register with Avios, any advice to optimise the benefits currently on offer? Avios on LiveChat told me that it works on Monarch and Flybe from Manchester, or by a connection on BA from London (which I don't really fancy!)

    TYIA :)
