I won the prize draw a couple of months ago - so its not 'fixed' however I opted for the hotel prize which allows me to stay free in any hotel in the UK and Ireland but have to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel throughout my stay - don't want the voucher now - but if anyone else wants it I would be more than happy to pass it on!

Well I am very skeptical about any of these prize draws because it seems like an easy way to get people to do work for free. I take your word when you say you won it.

Personally I have decided to keep doing YouGov surveys but I give totally random answers. Seeing that they can't be bothered to reward us regularly and they can't be bothered to answer email queries, I decided I can't be bothered to read their questions. I just click on boxes at random and get to the end of the surveys to collect the points.

Just got to my £50 tier !!!!!! (18+ months in the waiting!)

Now the fun starts, wonder how sharp they are going to be in coughing up to my bank account given this thread and the other thread with a mixed bag of reviews.

    #good news#

Just checked my bank account and the £50 is in there! (rec'd on the 18th calendar day after I redeemed my points)
  • I finally got to the £50 mark on 21st August and applied for the money straight away, but I've had nothing yet. The system for claiming is remarkably basic: just a poorly designed form, and no confirmation email or other way to check what's happening.

Once the money comes I'll be shutting my account with them. It's always been slow to earn points, but now that their focus is on getting people to enter the prize draws instead I imagine it'll take forever to get another £50.

I too joined in 2008 and am 100 points away from 5000. In my view YouGov is such a scam because there is absolutely no reason why they can not pay more regularly, say every 1000 points. They are just using people without having to pay out frequently while keeping the money in the bank. I think this is unethical at best.

I too will leave them once I have my money. Life IS too short.

I have never used YouGov before, but I can see where you are coming from. They know some people will tire of using them half way through so don't have to pay out. But if they had greater payout frequency, then it is more likely they will need to pay out more often.

What do they pay for anyway?
  • This thread has magical powers: 12 hours after posting here and the money's in my account :j
  • Redeemed 5000 points on 23 Aug and the £50 arrived in my account today. So that's three weeks (very similar timescale to verybigchris by the sounds of it)
  • After 7 years I finally reached the yougov payout :j
It was one of the first survey sites that I joined and Ive found it to be terrible for getting surveys. Ive done it off and on over the years depending on my internet access and has by YEARS been the biggest slog to get a payout. Bit disheartened by peoples stories of not getting money through, as I know how quickly other survey sites pay out.
I've just redeemed now so fingers crossed that they pay up

I have just completed two surveys (50pts & 75pts) for You Gov, I haven't been receiving any emails - so I guess it is a matter of checking the site to see if any are available.

I'm not yet halfway, but I have decided to stick it out as people are obviouly being paid.:)
