Went to M&S today to get their £15 meal deal, needed to buy wine for MIL anyway. Hunted through the beef and found one at the back marked at £12.81. Saved £12.78 on the deal, so I'm claiming I effectively paid 3p for a 1.2kg joint of beef. :j
Total shop was £43.28, declaring £28.05 after deducting the wine and other gift purchases. Also need to add on £11.48 for an undeclared shop earlier in the week.
That leaves about £50 for the rest of the month. Think I'll make it!0 -
Just popped in to update signature as spent £5 yesterday, only £1 of that was grocery, bought a huge pork hock in butchers, but as i am
doing so wellthis month decided to treat myself out of the budget and went to a table top sale and spent £4 on a pair of new George shoes,2 cardigans, fancy dress outfit for GD. lovely patchwork throw for sparebed, three very old crystal glass dishes and a bag of small laura Ashely fabric pieces. So very happy indeed.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and gets spoilt for Mothers Day.Slimming World at target0 -
Farmers Market - Arbroath Smokies (yum)
I got tempted by one of these delicous Arbroath Smokies, but I did also buy some potatoes, carrots and brusssels, everything was competitively priced, except the kale which I thought was rather expensive considering that is a vegetable I used to find a cheep way of getting my greens.
So I spent £5.60 and have plenty vegetables to last until the end of the month now.31.5/1000 -

Hi everyone.
just to et you all know that i bought my car tax online and used my debit card without a problem. Maybe it depends on the type of debit card? Mine is a Visa Debit card.
I didnt know that the price goes up, so am glad i decided to get it early!0 -
hi Just a quick question about paying for car tax online, I have previously paid using Debit card as I don't have a cc, have they recently changed it then?
We have NEVER been able to buy our car tax online with a debit card and have been doing for around 3 years now:mad:
If you are able to do it by using your debit card, can you tell me your secret please as really naffs me off having to pay an extra £2.50 a time when we have the money in the bankWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:
