New thread! Thanks as usual to everyone who runs it.
Took OH's Mum & her neighbour to Aldi today & also popped into Lidl next door. I like both shops but Lidl was empty & Aldi was pretty busy.
Some of the prices are so much cheaper than the big 4 but hope I didn't go overboard with the fruit & veg. Between the two shops I got a bag of salad 55p, a punnet of red grapes £1.29, a punnet of green grapes 89p, 2 small punnets of strawberries £1.38, a bag of kurly kale (for the rabbit & guinea pig) 79p, a bag of Gala apples 99p, 3 large onions 39p, 3 peppers £1.19, a Galia melon 99p, a bag of spinach 55p, a large cucumber 49p, a bag of oranges 69p, a broccoli 35p, 6 pears 69p, small apples 69p, 6 pears 69p and some mushrooms 59p! Some of these were Aldi's super 6 and some had 30% off their original price. Just got to eat it all now!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -

happy to report NSD today, as well as Sat and Sun, hoping to manage not to spend anything on food now until Thursday, which will really help keep me on track for this month's GC.
on the down side, DH has just had a surprise tax bill related to a deferred student loan - will be speaking to HMRC tonight when he gets home from work, but if it does need to be paid it will wipe out the savings we have built up which is frustrating. but, at least we had managed to save thanks to this website, so won't need to take on debt for it.
Need to menu plan properly for this week, but my chickens have started laying again, so we have an egg mountain!
Good luck everyone with this month's challenge, and thanks to those who run the threadDebt free and saving :j0 -
Ooh - New Thread!:j
Masses of thanks to everyone who runs/updates the thread and for all the advice and help! This is my first proper GC month - running from 23rd Feb to 22nd March.
Hoping that £220 will be easy to do and any money that is left at the end of each month will go towards paying for a new bathroom
Good Luck Everyone!0 -
