helen jelly please can I go at the front for £400 again this month. I will carry on with the Feb thread until Thursday but great to see the new thread up!:T

rfta - :shhh: zippychick isn't totally MIA although squeaky did the business for this thread again - her PC is broken and she can only post when the PC in the canteen at work is free until it is fixed. She last posted on 23rd Feb - sounds as though she has suffered from catastrophic appliance failures reading that post - almost all her small appliances are broken.

Everyone else - good luck - it's a five saturday month and we don't need to shop on all of them!! :A

Morning all, I'm going to set my budget for this month at £90.

Still got loads of stuff to eat up and that is probably why I went £10 over last month :o

I'm not at work today as I am at the dentist later and then hoping to go to our allotment for a much needed tidy up. We've done one side just got the other side to do.

    Have a good day all
  • Oops. I've just looked at my spends so far this month, and I've gone over my ents budget already! To be fair, it's dd's birthday, and I'm paying for a party, but that still means that we're doing free things for the rest of the month!! I have a fair bit left in the gifts budget, and no parties we've been invited to as yet, so may be able to cream some from there if needs be. Useless - it's not even the first of the month yet!!! Oh well, she'll only be 7 once.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner for today all sorted - the usual for breakie (cereal of toast), lunch is packup for them, already done, and phili and crackers for me, and then my dinner is more mussaman curry (ch at their dad's). A frugaltastic day planned, although I will be going to a sm to get dd card and ds present. "The sm will not take all my money, the sm will not take all my money...!"

    Have a great day everyone,

Ohhh poor thing ...... bad enough with the pooter dying but other things too :( - thanks for the update
I do have a freezer and cupboard primed for a nuclear attack...

Yup me too - I try to have a "system" for my freezers and try to keep pre-cooked meals / veg inside & "raw" meat / fruits etc outside but it's gone a bit wonky as there's so much stuff in them.

I had to move some "raw" meat out to the outside freezer (couldn't get them in before but it now has daylight in it!) to get the meals I cooked at the weekend into the inside one - moved 2 packs of meatballs (whoopsied as I'd usually just make them), 1 pack of beef casserole meat, 8 chicken breasts, 3 slabs of mince ......

I do not need to buy any more meat - actually feeling quite glad I didn't use the Mr T voucher at the weekend!:o

Thinking about setting myself a mini-challenge of no meat purchases during March .....

  • Keep an eye on PAH - they do the odd unmissable offer every so often .... my 4kg bags were BOGOF from there @ £28 so worked out at £3.50/kg

Do they all eat the same one?

I've also managed to get pretty good deals on 10kg bags online - an expensive outlay in one go but brings the cost down a lot - I got the last one for £38 (not quite as good as the PAH offer @ £3.80/kg). It was one of the reasons I wanted to try to get their "pots" working so I can afford to get the offers when they're around.

They all eat a mixture - but won't eat the smae variety for more than a few days, so they've bought 2 different ones on Sat and I'll get two more this weekend so they can be spoilt little fussy furry things.
*LOVE* that you've given the cats their own budget, and that 'they've' spent £24 so far!

To be fair, they have also earned over £40 of money off coupons from mission control over the weekend as their contribution to the household income.:rotfl:
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

  • Morning all!
I'm planning on having a NSD, well I need to fill up my car but don't need any shopping.
I just done the milk and more £10 off 1st shop offer and got 4 pints of milk, loaf of bread, 6 large eggs and £18 loo rolls for £2.98! There is a jug you supposed to get free and it has charged me for it, so if I can get that sorted it will all come to 99p :j It's being delivered on Thursday which is my official shopping day.

So using the £2.98 to be on the safeside means I have £24.02 left and not much to buy except fruit, cheese and ham.
I'm also going to try and cut down on drinking diet coke, I must spend a good £6 to £8 a week on the stuff!

Thanks for the new shiny thread! I've been missing in action for a couple of months, but I should get myself into gear again as my house deposit fund isn't growing at the speed I was hoping for. Can I be put down for £130 for March? That's for me and the occassional meal for my boyfriend. Thanks!
