Hello yummy mummy
Well done on your shopping :T It does sound like a lot, but considering you're down to your last 2 items of clothing, you end up buying everything new at the same time.... Wouldn't worry!
SIL actually made a weighted blanket for her son for about 3/4 of the price you can buy them! She's never used a sewing machine before and managed perfectly! To be honest, you'd think she'd bought it to look at it! She also made a wee lap tray for him too for when he's sitting with the TV/DS/etc. Only thing is that she'll have to add more weight to it as he gets heavier....
Hope you had a good eveningWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

I do sew and i'm quite good at it  but having priced the weighted "chips" and the offers n this website it would of worked out the same price so I took the lazy option and bought one! :rotfl::rotfl: this is just a lap blanket as the OT's warn against full sized ones now due to some children suffocating under them. :eek:Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

 Crikey that's not good!!
SILs son is 9. Up until she got the blanket, SIL would've had to get into bed with son and squeeze him tight until he fell asleep. He wouldn't allow her to leave the room. Usually took 2+ hours every night. She was exhausted. Since making the blanket he's out like a light in less than half an hour, and she can leave him on his own
Not sure if she keeps the blanket on him all night though. I do remember her saying about taking it off him once he's over to sleep.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

I think if the lap blankets work we will look in to a bigger one to help Superman settle to sleep then think about taking it off once he is sleeping. I am exhausted superman is sleeping less then ever at the moment

So moral dilemma...... You find £40 out in the road in a puddle soaking wet... Do you dry it off and keep it? Hand it in? PuT it in the charity box?
Mr Hinge has a job interview next friday :eek:
Superman has been very up and down this week, had a play date after school on Tuesday.... Success! Lovely family and I hope a new friend for me :T he has had his first reading book from school this week:D no words just pictures for him to tell the story, he is proud as punch! So am I!
Miss Hinge has asked to learn how to play the guitar  lessons at school...... She had 75% of the money from her birthday left and tapped me up for the rest as a pocket money advanced! :rotfl::rotfl: good job she is up in the loftear plugs at the ready!
6 dozen cupcakes cooling ready to ice for a lady to collect tomorrow :j shame I have to wash up the mountain of pots in the kitchen :rotfl:
How has everyone else's week been?

I say keep the £40 and try to do a kind turn (non financial) for someone to keep the good fortune going.
Glad the playdate went well and you have a new friend. Hope Superman sleeps better for you tonight XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Enjoy the money Mrs Hinge
Glad Superman is doing well and a play date that is good news. It's funny how you appreciate the small things. I remember when Missy Stripes was a toddler and how much I appreciated her holding my hand and not running off or sitting down and coming back when I called her name.
The King is doing really well with the taxi service and school, coping much better than I predicted. He is exhausted but loving the attention in the class as he is the youngest, such a charmer
Planning ahead for half term to take the King somewhere for a few days.0 -
 checked internet banking and no housing benefits gone in ready for Monday, I am sure its due to the increase in tax credits and the back pay we received. Having put the new figures in to entitled to calculator it works out we are entitled to £59 a week not the £192 every 2 weeks we have been getting, so for 18months we have been over paid nearly £75 every 2 weeks for the last 18months  nearly £5k..... gulp. I am so cross with tax credits for their f#$k up
So plan of action.... Where do i find £5k to repay them?! HELP!

:rotfl::rotfl: panic over... I *think* i did something wrong when inputting the figures.... a 2nd and 3rd (and 4th and perhaps 5th) check indicates we would be entitled to £90 per week housing benefit whic would be a over payment of £6 a week for 18months..... that is much more manageable!I will ring them tomorrow to confirm and find out why we haven't been paid as planned.
I am however working on a SOA, after logging in to step change and seeing a DFD of dec 2024:( and playing about with the calculator I am determined to make bigger repayments and be DF sooner

If I increased my debt repayments to 359.00 a month then my debt free date will be September 2018  5 years instead of 11 years.....or maybe best saving for a lump sum to make full and finals?
Please feel free to kick my @rse and tell me to rein in my spending!
