:j:j THIS TIME NEXT WEEK MY BOY IS 2! No longer Baby Hinge.... Master Hinge it shall be!
Sorry just a wee bit excitedMy little man is doing amazing, he is chattering along to everything, potty training going splendid and looking forwards to getting back to preschool after the loooooong break! I have managed to get him 2 full days which gives Mr Hinge no excuse to scrimp on the house work or Job hunting!
Our family support worker is looking to if we are eligible for 2year funding, fingers crossed as that would help the budget loads! :money:
So birthday preparations include a bargain sandpit £6 in the Tesco summer sale :money:a wooden kitchen http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70129801/ and some home made oven mitts, tea towels, a rainbow knitted hoodie ( still finishing off ) I have rummaged out a basket full of old wooden spoons, tin kettle, pots and pans ready for Master Hinge to make mischief!
I am on cake duty and will be making a rainbow sponge cake... practice run went very successfully last month and let Superman bemused as to why he had rainbow poo! :rotfl::rotfl::eek:
Today has mainly been spend de-cluttering! 3 bin bags gone to the tip and a pile of stuff to sell. will put on Fb selling pages first then ebay if it doesn't go.
Home made spicy wedges, chicken and green beans for tea.... cheese, mash and ham for Superman!
Budget is looking good for September :j

I bribed Superman with Mc D's after shoe shopping... mighty expensive to feed the brood in their now! both Miss Hinge and Superman have adult meals and not them tiddly meal boxes with tacky plastic toys!
The King is obsessed with the tat which makes it a cheap day out for me
I am back with war wounds from the shoe shop, Missy Stripe screamed the place down and refused to try on any shoes! Such drama I can't even blame it on the King :rotfl: We still bought a pair and tried it on when she was napping, one nil to me! Hope she doesn't out grow this pair too quickly!
Countdown for school now Mrs Hinge how is Superman coping?0 -
Hello Mrs Hinge, I have popped in previously but again just wanted to say hello.:)
We too, have been through the Clarks shoe parade this week and the assistant was very good with both ASD/ADHD boys and the middle ADHD one. The council have change taxi contractor for my oldest, who will be going in next week in a mini bus instead of his usual car with a different escourt, driver and passengers!. I personally don't think he will be getting in it. This is all down to cutting costs, such a shame. I did explain to them that change is not good and massive changes is really very bad!.:(
He did well this year, Tom who is 16 now passed his GCSE Maths and will sit his Design and Tech and Art next summer. My youngest boy though has been refused a Statement of Education and only given 12 hours a week support at mainstream. He can't stay in this school though, he is bullied and tormented by quite rough kids and has not improved in his literacy past Reception year, (he is also Dyslexic). I have used a private tutor for over a year and we are concentrating on the phonics still at the mo.
I can't trust this school with him as they let me down so badly with Tom. They taught Tom in the corridor with his own desk chair and LSA sat there all day, (35 hr Statement of Ed). I kicked up such a fuss that they moved him, I just can't at the moment find the strength to tackle the authority over DS3.
We/I have taken the decision to home school, (DS3) from this July, as I know him best and can spend all day with him and have a lot more patience than the teachers and his peers.
Anyway, sorry to ramble but again wanted to say hello and so please your little one is doing so well, you must be very proud.:TMortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

:T kudos mummy Stripes!
Superman is in denial he thinks he has gotten away with no school for 7 weeks so he doesn't have to go back!
I had today so far removed his new school uniform out of the bin and shoes out of toilet from him trying to flush them away  I'm at a loss as to whAt more i can do, we have a count down to school board his now and them Pecs with morning routine, his ipad virtual walk to school and his book with his classroom picture. It saddens me he hates school so much and I'm questioning my motives to send him. Would it be so wrong to give up work and live on benefits so I can home school him? Is that even a option?

 welcome back EAD nice to "see" you again!
I feel your frustration at the constant battling to get our Boys the support in school they need. It is soul destroying and exhausting. Am in my experience school then start taking out my battles with them on Superman and we start all over again with another battle.
I have thought long and hard about homeschooling superman and if i could afford it i would in a heart beat. If this year doesn't go well for superman i will serious look at jacking in work as i can't have my family at breaking point like last term. The summer holidays are a real eye opener to the affect school has on him.
I am relieved master Hinge is doing well, up until a few months ago he mirrored superman exactly and i did wonder if he would follow in Superman's shoes, as much as i adore him and embrace his quirkiness I am at my limits! I really take my hat of to you EAD with your boys, I know I would cope, I would have to but in all honest I dreaded the thought of it.
I wish you well in your new adventure with home Ed'ing and battling the LEA. Please keep me updated and pop by as much as you like

I feel for you, Mrs Hinge. The only reason I can afford to stay at home is because DH has a very well paid job and we both have Army pensions. Otherwise I too, would not be able to manage home schooling and would be back in 30K debt in no time, (only finished paying that off last July).:)Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

I can totally relate to your son taking on the Superman persona, my youngest will only answer to the name Megatron and then his first name. Can be quite funny in Sainsbobs when I shout where are you Megatron XXXXXX, LOL. Whilst my eldest when he was young up to about 9, insisted he was a car. He only made reverse, forward and screeching to a holt noises and barely talked. He also beeped when reversing and held his arms in a bent position when he moved. He loved Thomas the Tank and I have only recently sold what must have been the whole Island of Sodor which had been gathering dust for a couple of years. My youngest never bothered with Thomas?.
My eldest has a thing for anything military and is currently on Army Cadet Camp with his dad who is an instructor. He wouldn't be allowed to go without dad, who joined so that Tom could. He loves this but needs a lot of support and is pretty much a loner and prefers to stand away from the other cadets. He loves rules and order, so he is in his element. Tom only learnt to read 3 years ago and basically taught himself, as his anger/frustration is immense. He cannot accept failure and still finds it difficult if he spells a word incorrectly, (he has Dyslexia as well). It goes to show though that these very bright ASD children just need encouragement and gentle patience to overcome anything. We bought Tom a laptop in June and he is in the process of writing his first book, encouraged by starting to read with Beast Quest books and Halo. He reads absolutely everything now and can quote whole passages of text without any errors.
I suppose what I am saying is encourage and they will flourish and by being the good mum's and dad's we are will make them excel in their own individual ways.:)Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74
