SSSHHHHHHH!!!
I'm trying to watch this!!!!!0 -
If i do go to the cinema (rarely) i go to an Independant one. Such a better experience, *almost* worth the ticket price!
I don't go to see 'blockbusters' though, they seem to attract more eegits. If i want to see one, i wait for the DVD.0 -
When I went to see The Woman in Black I was sat near this geriatric couple and the old boy sucked werthers originals or murray mints or some other old person sweet all the way through. It was rustle, rustle, rustle followed by slurp, slurp, slurp and rattle, rattle, rattle as they clanged against his dentures
It's not something you can really complain about - "Stop sucking old man sweets, you coffin-dodger!". But I would have spoken to the giggling girls. I'd have also asked for my money back afterwards if I felt the film had been totally ruined.
When I went to see the Social Network I was sat behind a group of teenagers who started giggling and talking. I booted the back of their seats as hard as I could and told them to !!!!!!.
I can't abide people making noise in the cinema. I even try not to breathe."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Only slightly less irritating than talking is being sat behind some phone-obsessed teenager who spends most of the film reading and responding to text messages. He or she might think they're being clever by having it on silent but the continual lighting up of the stupid little screen really ruins my concentration.
If you want to text your mates, or talk to them, why bother going to the cinema?? I don't get it. Mind you, I expect I was the same (just without the mobiles because they weren't invented 850 years ago)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I don't go anymore, for all of the reasons listed above !'' Ok Marge, if anyone asks, you require 24-hour nursing care; Lisa's a clergyman; Maggie is seven people and Bart was wounded in Vietnam ''0

Used to have a Cineworld Card, switched over to the Odeon where you just get points, whichever chain it is depending on the film's time, I'm barely going once a month now.
Since the Odeon charge more I've found them to react more quickly to idiots and talkers. I 2nd the disagreement regarding late arrivals because of trailers and also rubbish service at the concessions - I think the record is held by Mission Impossible 2 which, in its release week, was shown with half an hour of ads and trailers, and this was back before the Orange ads.
If I was late though I'd slink in and stick to sitting near the front rather than disturbing anyone else that arrived earlier.0 -
Its one reason I never go, I get sick of the noise from ignorant people. Its bad enough going to a concert and have to move to let people who are late push by to get to there seat, then 30 minutes in they want a beer/coke or whatever and you have to do it all over again.
I stick to watching flicks at home, at least I can pause and go to loo or have a coke0 -
Very rare we go for all the reasons listed above. For the cost of 2 tickets you can buy the DVD when it comes out a few weeks later.
Now we tend to rent movies or just wait till they are on the TV.
Let's face it there are not that many new good movies out there, just too many carp remakes or kiddie films.

But doesn't the pausing reduce the dramatic effect?
I never went for years due to the fact I got so wound up by other people's behaviour - I was like Victor Meldew and some more.
But I am now a bit more chilled out - last time I went someone had the glowing mobile phone - I just kept cool, asked them nicely to refrain and they did.0 -
What you need to do is get your cinema to abide by the Wittertainment code of conduct.
what happens if they tell you the film starts later then it does
because me and boyfriend went to see the muppets we were told it started at 1:30 we got there at 1:20 and was then told the film had already started at 1
we'd already brought our tickets they didn't want to change us to another screening (because we wanted to see the first 20 minutes) wouldn't give us a refund so we ended up going in 25 minutes later (because we weren't going to waste the amount of money we had spent on the tickets)
and why at cinemas apart from ice cream do they give you noisy food like popcorn sweet bags crisps packets0
