I have to say that Cardiff Cineworld is really on the ball and is very good with dealing with anti-social behaviour in the cinema - they have "bouncer" style security staff who are easy to locate in the lobby and have no problem removing undesirables.

On my last visit some teenage boys were messing about and one of them started spitting pop-corn at people. Within 5 minutes the security guard was there and they had to leave.

Good to hear that some cinemas take this type of behaviour seriously.:)
we stopped going to the cinema for ages because of morons like these and only just started going again regularly.
Still end up watching most films at home though in the comfort of my own living room. We have lovefilm and are currently taking advantage of the free trial from netflix. I kow many people who refuse to go to the cinema be ause of the anti social behaviour of other people. . A big no no for me is people eating hot greasy smelly food.yuk yuk yuk:mad:

It's the couples, (usually elderly for some reason) who insist on telling each other what's happening that rile me..

I've got hard in my old age....I now say 'you going to shut up so we can hear the film?' and give them the harshest look from my repertoire. :D

Before, I would just have grumbled and moaned under my breath. Downside to this is that I do tend to embarrass my offspring somewhat these days as they are still at the grumble under their breath stage. :rotfl:
Pleased I'm not the only one! I've 'had a go' at so many things lately - like confronting some shooters on a public footpath

I never really go to the cinema. It was fun when I was really little (like 10 years old) when, in hindsight, I was probably one of the annoying ones, but since i've grown a little older, I've never really found it an enjoyable experience. I'd much rather watch a film on my own, not with a bunch of strangers, most of whom are just chatting, giggling, rustling bags non-stop etc.
  • Another vote for watching it at home is the fact if you need the toilet or some refreshment half way through or just the fact you didnt understand something you can pause it, rewind it and view it again! Plus all the 'extra' entertainment on the DVD's is a bit of a novelty too. Oh then you can watch it as many times as you like for just one price.
    Thanks :)

I Have not been to the pictures for about 2 years now, If i was to go i would choose to go when the kids are at school, there are no offers on that way you and a few others are in the room lol. I also now have a lovefilm account i get 3 dvds a month FREE (pay a fee for my bank account) So i and a group of mates have a dvd night, it cheaper then going out. No Cost for the film, no cost for transport, Cheaper food and drinks. We buy a case of beer for £9 and pizzas on offer. It works out about £4 a head instead of £20 if we were to go out to see a film on a saturday and thats not inculding drinks after.

I love going to the flicks and much prefer it to watching a film at home (the big screen is much better).

I hate, though, people who chat all the way through, and screenings where there are a lots of very young children, who can't really be expected to sit through 2 hours in quiet without needing a wee about 3 times, crying, shouting, spilling their huge bags of haribo etc. etc., so I make sure if I'm going to a film that children can goto, I go to a night time showing instead. Can't really complain if I go aon a weekend in the middle of the day, can I? It's bound to be full of kids :-)

  • I don't go to the cinema for all of the above reasons, I go occasionally to watch something with DD as she is only in infants and she loves it and doesn't notice anything but the film - but she has needed to go for a wee 2 mins before the end the last 2 times and we've missed the ending to Up and I can't even remember the other one - grrr! Wait for the DVD is what I say!

We don't really go that often but now our kids are grown up (22 & 18 ) we just wanted to get out a bit more , especially on a Saturday night when there is nothing on tv !! If we do the stay in thing no one can ever agree on what film they want to watch .
    I can't win :(

Yep ive been there OP and got annoyed with 3 young bimbo's just giggling, throwing popcorn. I was tempted to say sometihng but a woman behind us beat me to it and told them to stop and a few minutes later they got up and left.

The cinema does have security staff who does "check in" on films but its not much use when he isnt there through the whole film. They could have a member of staff to sit through the film and evict those making noise.

Oh and dont get me started on those dam chair kickers are annoying.
