Vent - noisy people in cinema

Went to see The woman in black last night and 3 young girls sat at the front talking and giggling constantly . It was so annoying as it is a film that has a lot of "quiet bits" and I was getting pretty irritated by the noise . The dilemma is do you leave your seat , then missing a part of the film to go outside to find a staff member and complain . I chose not to as it would have meant moving past other people and causing further interruption , I felt like screaming out will you shut the !**! up but did decide against this .
Someone must have gone out and said something because a staff member camre in about 3/4 of the way through the film and had a word but after they had gone it started again .
I wanted to complain at the end but my husband isn't keen on a fuss and he hurried me out of the cinema.
My vent is not just about the annoying little bimbo that spoilt a good film but the cinema themselves , surely for the extortionate amount of money we pay they could have staff actually in the screening - or at least checking in regularly so that paying customers don't have to put up with this .

If they were directly infront of you, kick their seats. They will soon shut up.0

I've got hard in my old age....I now say 'you going to shut up so we can hear the film?' and give them the harshest look from my repertoire.
Before, I would just have grumbled and moaned under my breath. Downside to this is that I do tend to embarrass my offspring somewhat these days as they are still at the grumble under their breath stage. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
also the rustling of bags of sweets etc drive me mad too.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

Unfortunately not , if they had been directly in front I would have said something but the y were sat in the front 3 rows and separated from the rest of us by the entrance aisle0

This is why I hate going to the cinema. The last time I went a drunken couple stumbled in about 15 mins after the film had started, staggered and giggled their way up to the row directly behind me (spilling their popcorn all over me in the process), and spent the entire film talking inane drivel, giggling and kicking the back of my seat.
When the lights went up at the end, they were in a rather compromising position (her sat in his lap with her knickers round her ankles). I kid you not.
And the staff did nothing. I don't understand how they were even allowed in the first place given that the film had started 15 mins before, and they were clearly trollied.0 -
I get so fed up of people making noise and rustling packets I just wait for it to come out on DVD or Sky Movies and watch it in the comfort of my own home where I can control the peace and quiet.
Its the ones who are apparantly old enough to be responsible without an adult and end up chucking popcorn / boiled sweets and using their drinking straw as a liquid pea shooter etc and generaly misbehaving that annoyed me the most.
ThanksFailure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

I saw the Woman in Black too and i think it's just that type of film.
There was a woman behind me stuffing her face with popcorn throughout the film. Rustle, rustle, crunch crunch. You'd think she'd not eaten in a week. It was disgusting. About 1/2 way through I turned round and just stared at her. The noise stopped for the rest of the movie. Funny how she could eat quietly when she wanted to.
(Must have been my angry teacher stare. I really have got it perfected.)"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
We've given up going to the cinema. My wife was always worried that I'd get done over by one of the groups I glared or Shh'd at!0

I have to say that Cardiff Cineworld is really on the ball and is very good with dealing with anti-social behaviour in the cinema - they have "bouncer" style security staff who are easy to locate in the lobby and have no problem removing undesirables.
On my last visit some teenage boys were messing about and one of them started spitting pop-corn at people. Within 5 minutes the security guard was there and they had to leave.0 -
Lot of my family went to see this film on orange wednesday,i lent them my phone for cheaper entrance but refused to go because i hate being kicked in the back of my seat as it turns me into the incredible hulk and im frightened what i might do to the kickers.
As it turns out not only were the talkers in the picture house but one of the people in our group (not family) was also a talker too.
Me? i spent my money on a nice bottle of whisky and sat at home in peace listening to the wireless.
Apparently the film was rubbish anyway according to me:D and i havent seen it:D
So im still a non cinema goer after reading these posts to confirm what i already knew.0
