New Challenge - Double Your Money!

Hi Everyone and Welcome to this new challenge
I have started a few challenges on here and they are going well so thought it was time for another :rotfl:
Double your Money is something we all want to do, right? If not why not?? lol
The idea came to me when i was in a buy and sell frame of mind - simple idea - Spend £? on stuff and sell it for profit. Then i realised there are lots of other ways to double your money as well, you could use vouchers and reduced buys to make your £20 budget go further, you maybe want to increase your savings - these are a few options that have come to me over the past few days and i am sure there must be more
The theme is simply to make our money work harder for us.
How Can you Double your Money? Well here are a few ideas that might help to get you started:
First of all maybe you could think of a general idea of what way you would like to do it?
Are you thinking buy and sell? Double your groceries? Double your savings? Double your income? Double your survey money?
There are also things like double your ebay sales, double your petrol (as in make it go further), or double your club card points/account points.
If you have no money to start with why not look around the house to see if you have something you could sell, then try to double the money made from that sale.
You could start with 1p and see if you can find another 1p searching for the famous roadkill (as in money you find on the ground for anyone who hasn't come across the term in the context of money before!)
Other things you could do:
Whatever it is you want to do the question is can we really double our money?? Well you will only know if you try
BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR MONEY, DON'T RISK WHAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM PLEASE!!!!!! REMEMBER BUYING AND SELLING IS NOT ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL AND BE VERY WARY OF GAMBLING TOO - THIS THREAD DOES NOT SUPPORT GAMBLING EVEN IF INDIVIDUALS ON HERE POST ABOUT IT.
The only 'rule' i have is this - you start with something and you try to double it, could be £1 could be £100, or if you are very ambitious £1000. It could be your shopping budget you want to get twice as much from, it could be you want to double your whole income - the choice is up to you.
With timings its up to you as well - do you want to turn your £1 into £2 in 1 day? Do you want to do a double grocery shop for 1 week? Do you want to start with £50 and end up with £100 at the end of the month? Again you choose!
Are you up for the challenge? Come join me cos i'm a little bit scared  :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

- Be more effecient with your gas or electric by turning your heating down
- Pay extra off your credit card to reduce interest costs
- apply for and use a loyalty card for places you shop
- Use food up and don't let it go out of date
- womble for things that can help you save money
- make do and mend instead of throwing out and buying new
- buy things from a charity shop
- use the library instead of buying books
- sell things you have in the house and don't need
- move your savings to a higher interest account
- shop around for utility bill deals

I'm not going to join you on this one but as one of your 'Happy Steppers Crew' I wanted to come on here and wish you all the best - don't forget to come back to us and let us know how you are doing
P.S.
If you are intrigued what the Happy Steppers Crew is, have a gander at this welcolming and supportive thread

Hey everyone,
I love this idea Fairy!
At the moment I'm thinking that I've got £200 in my Zopa account and would like to double that. I'm not sure how I'd do it though as that money is 'locked away', so I can't really use it to try and double it. Think I'll keep an eye on you all to try and get some ideas over the next few days and will hopefully join you properly in March.0 -
Oh here I am, bringing the thread down; feel like a right spoil sport but if your buying to sell, making stuff to sell and some other scenarios I cant think of right now, dont you have to inform mister tax man?
I'll slither off to where I came from now...I might leave a snail trail too.....£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
Great stuff Welcome to you Rosie & lolly
TM - you'll be back for a nosey i'm sure so welcome to you too :rotfl: and no i would never forget about the happy steppersi will be there stepping away as usual!!
and Nat......hmmmmmOh here I am, bringing the thread down; feel like a right spoil sport but if your buying to sell, making stuff to sell and some other scenarios I cant think of right now, dont you have to inform mister tax man?

hahaha Nat yes sod off with your snail trail :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It is a good point though, so thanks for highlighting that one for usI know a lot of people who buy and sell or make to sell are already in touch with Mr Tax Man, though if you are not sure if you need to be telling him what you are up to do please check it out
Remember though that you can do this challenge by doubling the groceries you buy with your food budget or double your savings (which is already taxed!) so there are ways of taking part without worrying about Tax
Happy Ms Nats????you can slither back again if you want to
