Just picked some Twinlock Crystalfile Extra suspension files. We got quoted £52 for a box of 25 from a major stationer. I picked up 19 boxes for £40. Hoping to sell them to work but we will see.

Had a bid on the job lot but nothing much since but will be happy to see the back of them. Sales have been steady but the OH's shoes had more action than my items on eBay...

Not doing too bad, but not much stock left so all is good.

Just checked my zopa account and am now up to £708.78 :) creeping ever closer to my target of £1000 in there.

I have just had a notification from them as well that i have one borrower who hasn't kept up his monthly payments - this is the first time i have had any repayment issues and he owes me £7 odds. They are on it and chasing him up so will be interesting to see what happens.

  • Hi,

I am new to this thread (and new to this website) but I am loving your ideas to double your money. How do you actually make money on ebay these days though? Royal Mail charges crazy amounts for postage now and fees are creeping up all the time.

Hi Miss Moneysaver and welcome to the thread :) it is getting harder to make any money on ebay i have to admit, however if you can get items reasonably cheaply you can make a bit of profit. I have also started to use collect+ instead of royal mail for bigger parcels. Selling on other sites such as facebook, gumtree and amazon are also options worth considering :)

I'm a bit scared of auctions... I've never been to one. I haven't got bags of money, and the big 'traders' vans outside the local one scares me a bit!

Gary - what sort of prices does your wife pay for that sort of stuff?
Are there different types of auctions? Ones for traders/big things and ones like the example above?

    Well done Carlymate!

Dont be put off, theres always a mixture of people just buying for themselves, ebayers, traders the lot.

With regards to pricing it all depends on what she is buying. She does best with boxes with mixed lots and it might contain stuff like micropedi's electric toothbrushes and she can double or triple her money on a £40/50 box of stuff.

If you have the room you can buy stuff out of season and sell it in-season. So she is selling sunglasses at the moment, fairly cheap ones but an absolute ton of them in lot last winter.

Look at myhermes or parcelmonkey, typically small parcels are cheaper through them than royal mail.

    Hello

I've been reading these posts. Thinking I'm going to have a go, I'm going to start off with £10 and try and make £20. I'm going to raid my local charity shops to see what I can find.

    Any recommendations?

I've been buying furniture online over the past few weeks as me and my partner are moving to a bigger place. Found some right bargains online and have been able to make some good profit.

Clearing out all our junk we've made £108 on two car boots, plus another £100 on furniture we don't need in the new place.
I've also managed to sell a dining table and chairs for £25 that I bought for £15 as well as a wardrobe which I sold for £30 and only bought for £5.

So Really enjoyed wheeling and dealing, and have been able buy bits and pieces for the new place with the profit we've made and I've been inspired to carry on looking for bargains online to buy and sell.
