Davesnave I have dosed myself up with panadols an Ibruphen.. as from memory the pain after having a tooth out is worse than the toothache... hopefully it will be ok tomorrow hope so as I got to work tomorrow/sunday, to make up for the time off todayWork to live= not live to work0 -
:eek: how does one, or should i say ...how many times does one tell an excitable italian chap that a 8.4 metre boat just aint gonna fit on a 7 metre trailer.....:wall:
i will be SOOOOO glad to see the end of this sale....:rotfl::rotfl:
it has stayed dry today....ISH... just the odd shower that came to nothing BUT cold......:o0 -
re the weather.....
obviously some people are bound by the weather for thier survival but i tend to wait for the day to start rather than wish each day away because of it.
i never look at forecast, im gratefull it is a fresh day and enjoy what i do whatever/wherever.
better to start the day without expectations than be disapointed in advance.

Ah, but you live in an area with significantly more sun and less rain than most of us!
I remember doing the school trips down there. It would be a nice sunny day on the coast, but as we went inland, the clouds would form.....:(
But I'm almost with you on this. I read the forecast and then forget or disbelieve at least half of it. The main thing is that I don't do something daft, like plan an activity that needs a calm day (e.g. putting on roofing sheets) when we are going to have 35mph gusts.
There's also some benefit to be had from most kinds of weather if you think hard enough. For example, Thursday's winds meant we could hardly hear Mr Dog's dogs, although they barked all day, and yesterday's rain was needed both in the garden and for the stream.:)0 -
Morning all:j:j
Grey and overcast here. I like to know the weather forecast, especially for when we have things planned, like next weekend, basically to know what clothes to take, as I don't want to take wrong clothes:rotfl:
faceache:D isn't as bad this morning, just a dull throb..
I am in 2 minds to book a vintage fashion fair on the 7nd of June ? in Bristol.
The thing is I am in a catch 22, I need to do these types of things to get money in to start saving for the work needed on the ranch, but then we are not spending time on the ranch getting things ready for the work to be done...
For all you lurkers, dreamers etc..
Reality check..... Its hard... BlOODY hard... trying to juggle things... Just wish the kids ( 17 & 18) would stay at the ranch in a caravan, then we could try and get this place done up, and possibly rented out loads of work and money needed to get this place fit for renting, but then we would only need to top up the diff between the mortgage payments and rent received...
And I Have said all along that saving for my daydream would not effect other members of the family day to day living etc..
It also doesn't help that day to day living is rising...
BUT don't let this put you off:rotfl::rotfl: Would I change things, YES definetly... I would not have spent soooo many years just dreaming about it, an feeling depressed and sorry for myself, I should have been on the ball saving/earning wise all the time, rather than in fits and starts...and said s@d it about it effecting other family members:eek::D
I think I need another cuppa, an then toddle off to work:DWork to live= not live to work0 -

I would think they'll be best alone. We just stuck the eggs under our broody and let her get on with it in the small coop last year, but we made sure she was eating/drinking and gave her extra tit bits.
As I recall, they don't need much supervision and go outside to poo, so the nesting area stays clean.0 -

How about giving the lads their own caravan? My BiL's son has lived in a caravan in the yard for the past few years while BiL has been converting a barn. Originally, they lived together, but when son's contribution to the rent was always either late or unpaid, BiL gave up the rented house, saving himself at least £500 a month! Tough love, but son had to stand on his own feet, feed himself etc for the first time.
Just a thought.....:)0 -

We've been through it all, we said they could have their own caravan 'each' ( there is no brotherly love between them:o)
they don't pay us lodge:cool: eldest one did in the beginning ( £20 per week) then he stopped, saying that as youngest was working, he should be paying too, but youngest is only working 4 days a week, on £3 something an hour, brings home £200 something a month, and has to pay £70 a month for a monthly bus pass.
In fairness they hardly eat at home now.
Youngest said he would only live up there once all the stone work has been done etc, and there is only decorating needed..
Maybe I should start talking about it again, and see if their reaction is still the same, or changed???
Edit... Even though it would be a bit rough on times, it would make it a lot easier, hopefully easier on the finances too, as after next month, we are back paying rates on the ranch...
Think our bank accounts and spending/bills etc needs its annual reviewWork to live= not live to work0
