Did I ever mention I dislike creeping buttercups :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I think that's all we'll have in our bottom field after the winter we've had! :(

But land improvement will have to wait. Paid the builders for the barn blockwork today, and that was fine, but their estimate for the Yorkshire boarding was way more than I expected.:eek:So.....looks like I will be doing some carpentry work myself soon. I just need a few extra tools, which will pay for themselves. Not sure I can handle the barn end though, thanks to my difficulties with heights.:o

Collected the free 20litres of what might be creocote/sote and left a dozen eggs in their place today. The owner was out, but his place was a veritable Aladdin's cave of useful looking stuff, all of it looking like it wouldn't actually get used. About 25 sheets of square section metal roofing caught my eye buried in the grass. I could use the lot. Might email later. ;)

On to Mole Valley, where we picked up another 8 poles to do the fruit cage. We've a feeling the cage will actually be used as a deep bed first, because if we're saving money by doing much of the barn ourselves, there won't be time this year to sort out the rest of the garden, as we'd planned.

Mole Valley have taken over one of the farmer run co-operatives up here. Never heard of them before till I came on here. What are they like to deal with?

Beautiful bright day again, but cooolllllllllllllllllllddddddd.

I'm away to oggle me lambs....aaaaawwwwwwwwwwww.

Are all your sheep Shetlands Choille? that's what I keep too - here's my one and only shetland lamb born so far with her mum:

She has a beautiful pure white fleece - one colour I've been missing in the sheep, so she's definitely not for the freezer!

Like others, they try to be all things to all (wo)men, with the result that they do nothing brilliantly.

For example, the MVF magazine arrived here last week, and on the same day I went into MVF to take advantage of the 2 for 1 offer advertised on work shirts. I couldn't. They had Xlarge and XXLarge and Small. I am none of those!

Another example. The poles I bought today are a fair price and they let me pick them, so top marks for that. However, if I want 4" x 1" (whatever that is in metric)I probably won't find it there, so it's a trip to a real timber merchant.

Still, I remember the days when MVF was just a shop in East Street, with lots of sacks full of stuff like milled wheat and dog biscuits.... As a kid, I liked the smells in there. Probably ate a few of their black dog biscuits too! It's funny how kids always went for those...:rotfl:

    What a cutie!

Oh the fleece possibilities :j Shetland is a gorgeous fleece to spin and I am sure you would make a pretty penny for a pure white first shearing good quality fleece!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
