Yes, I think I might separate the cans/foil just in case, and then have a phone around.
RE dentist - I had no choiceThey said if I wanted "full treatment" I would have to go private, but she would "see what she could do" in 2 appointments. I had been in SO much pain from various deep gum/cheek infections that it was a relief to have SOMETHING done, other than being dosed up with anti-biotics - Metronizadole makes me sick and knocks me sideways for days on end, so the choice between going crazy with long-term pain/infection and whacked out on ABs, OR 20 mins of intense pain with potential relief at the end just seemed an easy decision. As it was, the treatment did clear a lot of the infected tissue and underlying infection, and a strong ibuprofen with a lay down helped immensely!
I MUST MUST MUST get some private treatment though. I don't like my dentist AT ALL, I feel fobbed off every time I go, and while I have very solid teeth, I'm going to lose them to bad gums if I don't invest some money in them. Currently listing stuff on eBay!0 -
LIR happy belated birthday, sorry you were so poorly!
Alfie, hope the family all continue to improve, make sure you still take care of yourself though too. Well done on the sales!
CTC and Maggie, missed both of your news because I haven't been on more than once a day.
Rummer you need to tell all regarding the attacking chicken!
Anyone that needs hugs, here you go :grouphug:
It's been a relatively quiet Easter but we had snow showers Saturday and Sunday and DH has a stinking cold so we've not been out. He's been in a lot of pain too with the cold so we're both looking forward to some time away in a few weeks.

According to the BBC weather forecast, today was supposed to be sunny. It's not. It's grey & miserable.
We have a very forlorn looking female pheasant in the garden ~ she's just sat there looking miserableI saw her moving around a bit earlier & she definitely has a limp so am guessing she's damaged a foot somehow. Poor thing, I hate the thought of her being in pain. I've thrown some seed & titbits out but she hasn't moved. I'll be fretting about her all day now

Same here, grey and cold. And windy.
Sunny yesterday and spent a while clearing top-heavy ivy from a wooden fence. The more I do work in the garden the more I realise needs doing!
Lir, hope you and DH are over the food poisoning, awful thing to have
Some jugs I was thinking of giving to the charity shop sold for quite a tidy sum yesterday, so another nugget of information gained on whats valuableAlfie, well done on your sales :T
Choille/CTC, I'm not yet noticing people stopping bidding with the higher postal charges, but it is stopping me listing lower value items that dont fit into RM's new small parcel definition and I have to be more conscious of price points which then impacts on gross profit0 -
Morning all:j
Well yesturday got nowhere fast:cool::rotfl:
I can see blue skies, but I think its cold out there...
Been doing alot of thinking over the weekend:eek::rotfl:
definately going to spend more time in getting and prepping wood for next winter, rather than getting some, an cutting it when we need it....AND making sure we just keep getting more wood when we see it,Work to live= not live to work0 -
Yes, cold but beautiful here too Ctc. The antifreeze in the car screen wash was not working properly, when I cleaned the windscreen I was forced to pull over, get out then scrape the windows and it froze on the screen!
But it's very, very beautiful. The horses have not used the barn for two nights, so they are liking the weather more too.
I have seen two horses we might be interested in, but they are too far for me to drive and look at. The one I like the look of most is four and a half hours drive away.....too much for a broken thing like me.0 -
Hi Lir, can you get anybody to share the driving? Or initially getting them to email some photos over to see if it would be worth the journey?

Even the sitting will be tough tbh, ok to sit for the hours there and back maybe, but not the standing looking and walking in between:o
Am very tentatively considering having one of them vetted and if it passes going up. Expensive way round if I don't like it, but less expensive than several of these trips on my body maybe?
Seen photos, and a lot to like, Some faults I can live with and some others I can improve through CORRECT work and feet trimming.
One I like best has a baby on board though.......I am thinking carefully. The second one I like is a yearling. I am almost considering jiggling and getting all of them, so that the babies have each other to play with then sell the baby on board if its a boy (yucky boys). Rummer would like that one I think.

On other things....cylindrical sieves.....who has one? We just have too much to hand sieve, but it does make the world of difference when dealing with places that have not been gardened for so long (pfft for weeds though).
Is a cylindrical sieve a reasonable investment do you think?0
