Of course! But one can guard against disillusionment ...just remember bad things happen put here too bsometimes....rural crime, some less friendly neighbours, and rejoice that you have lts of good things when the ba ones happen!0 -

Third one is an arum too. 'Lords & Ladies'?
Fourth one is Lamium. Not sure which one, but probably the one that's latin mame starts with 'glob...' -something!
Last one is Comfrey, but a small creeping one.... Symphytum grandiflorum???
The arums are all poisonous, but so long as your kids know this when they are old enough to be unsupervised, it won't matter.0 -
Slow start this morning, after doing critters. Its gutting to have to go and do fencing again this weekend, spring has come so quickly!
So....if i have to redo my fencing.....maybe sowing my annuals. Is not so barking? Although......there was a thin layer of ice over waters this morning!0 -
core i love your dingle rozee:D i see the Daffadiddles are just about to flower... wonder if you got any bluebells in there too?
I love helping people if i can.. i am a bit soft really ( but i am a hard boss in work, i cant tell you what they think and say about me:eek::rotfl:)I think that is a downfall of mine.. I would prop give someone my last penny if need be...thats why my kids and hubby gets what they want, as i cave in, maybe if i was a harder person in my private life i would have alot more money in my daydream pot....
Rural crime is on the up..
I live right on the outskirts of a village.... which up untill now, even though i have allways wanted to have a smallholding has suited us fine..but i must be honest, I could never live in a city or a really large built up area....Especially now, with no one knowing how their neighbours are from one month to the next..
I really do feel sorry for people who have been born/bred and grown up in inner cities, and only knowing high rised flats... and have got to be 'streetwise' to be able to cope etc....
Even though it was a nice day yesturday we lite the fire last night, good job as we had a little bit of ground frost... Looks as though its going to be another nice day todayWork to live= not live to work0 -

Mmmm, questionable animal friendliness me thinks
Well, so long as we get our money back, she'll be free to do either. We paid £20 each BTW and, £15 for one smaller one. Earlier, we paid £14 for some Welsummers of similar size.
I don't think the lady is cruel, as she would be if she provided no night/winter time quarters, or food. The fact that the birds are out there in a big field, long term, suggests they are lasting a reasonable length of time; some longer than others, I dare say.
Anyway, are they any worse off than their ancestors, or some of the village hens here that 'get about' in the daytime, some of which fell foul - pardon pun - of a dog recently (We have a few often seen in the children's play area. Don't say 'H&S!!!' it's safer than discarded syringes, which we don't have.:rotfl:)0 -
Looks a nic day here from what I can see from the bed! Going to take the hounds for a walk, clean out the hens and then will have to collect the other 3 from their scout camp. They've been to a local Natonal Trust property and doing slash and burn gardening amongst other stuff. Still not ordered the matting, but it is payday this week and part of me thinks sod it, go and get it.
My car is still stuck in the Kyle of Lochalsh, hoping its going to be ready this week. They think it was the bearing in the water pump that snapped the timing belt, that broke the valves, that knackered the cylinder head. A big job then. OH wants to go and stay at Kinloch lodge as its something on his bucket list, it looks ruddy expensive so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the help with the plants Dave (if I didn't already say that - ti's kinda hectic round here at the mo - I have a demand for a nappy change now, so gotta dash - it's definately time to potty train these bubbas!)0 -
There was a report in the newspaper this week that there ahd been a breas in at a garden shed in the village. It's hardly Hackney, but I suppose it means we should be more careful than we'd like to be.0

with the bluebells, i think you got to have a license to move/sell them? if they are the proper ones.... again i am sure our mr cool;) Davesnave will know this, or even our mr delightfull rhiwie will know....
Even though i should be out the garden, clearing the rubbish, and getting the garden/greenhouse ready... My priority over the next few weeks is MONEY!!!!!!!!! Soooooooooooooooooooooo
going up to work later to do some stuff, and then going up to the other antique centre to swap some stuff over....Been very quiet, only just covering the price of the pitch..:o
Rozee did you buy most of your properties at auction? did you ever let your heart rule your heart when it came to bidding and the amount etc? also do you feel awkward or nervous in them?
Just wondering?
as i have been to loads of farm/antique auctions etc... and only had the odd 'twindge' of nerves etc, but i should imagine houses are a diff ball game..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dull and wet here today
.
I have been thinking of listing things on ebay but it is such a hassle and I don't really have spare time. Still the extra pennies and reduction in clutter would be great.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
