Hi Rummer, I know how you feel! I was panicking slightly yesterday then dh suggested we finish clearing the bit we started and put the garlic & shallots in and then clear it bit by bit. We are lucky in that there is a mass of strawberries down one end from the previos owner so we will just create a bed round them when we get that far. Bit by bit Is my new mantra

Yes - I'm the same & have to do the bit by bit mantra as my mind & my back can't take owt else on at the moment.
Must get listing, or photoing. Snow on the tops this morning so that'll add to the pictures!0 -

That's very kind of you CTC, but I think those nipples only work when they are upside down, these other ones work from a vertical surface. I think they're amazing and better than any other watering system I've ever seen.
But no one else seems interested in them, so I'll shut up now :rotfl:Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I am, very much so. On weak days ordinary waterers are too heavy for me. I use cat litter trays, but need to change now for safety due to ratus ratus.

You can plant garlic now. It will just crop later. Mine only went in about a fortnight back!:o
Will look for P mint now, but it is always slow to wake up.
We should have some pineapple mint. It was just starting to bud through when I trimmed the herbs a couple of weeks ago ...... but then the frost came back & I'm not sure yet whether it's actually survived & just stopped in it's tracks or it's had it. It's looking a bit sad at the moment but may be OK.
As everything on the moors is always a bit behind the lower levels, it may be a week or two before I can really tell, though.0 -

, but I've emailed the company this morning about a bulk order, because I'm planning to sell them.
You can have them at cost
You need your own water barrels or something to drill them into.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Oooooooh!
Well, we have spent all day cleaning up rat faeces:eek: So much damage. Dh went up intothe loft of the dairy building, where i thought would be seething with rats, but not so much as a poo.
Less faeces appearing, but poison still going.
We bought one of those sonic things, but i think we need three or four, so they don't just move into a nother building or house:eek::eek:
Tomorrow we are opening bird doors early and going to drive over to make my mother a surprise breakfast, then coming home to get started here later than usual.0 -
We've been demolishing 2 wooden pigsties we've used as plant shelters, but unusually for a breaking job, it's taken all day. That's because we're keen to save the ply panels, but they're very well nailed together, and bolted too with well-rusted 5" M10s. It was much worse than digging!
Oddly, it looks as if there's a small spring in one of the pig sties; a very soggy area 2' across. Odd place to build I'd have thought.
We had a couple of downpours, even a clap of thunder, but during those I screwed the little chicken coop back together, having Crecoted it all twice for luck.
Ozzie looks like he might have scaly leg, but it's a hard thing to ID if it's not very bad, so it might not be that at all. He's also getting over a bit of chest trouble, so we've just been treating his legs with Vaseline every night rather than medicate. Apart from ivermectin, is there anything else we could use?0
