Ah but you don't make him use the utility room door. It's his choice.
While the workmen have been at the cottage in the daytime they've been letting deliveries in at the front.
I'm sorry to hear GS is still so poorly.0 -
CTC - Just took another look at your forecast for Easter. Temps for Fri & Sat now max 8 degrees. When I said it could change I was actually hoping for improvement.
They certainly did have some hail inland :eek:0 -
GS starting to eat again after a week taking no food, he'd just been lying down listless, with low oxygen levels, very chesty and coughing until red in the face. Hopefully on the mend after giving everyone a scare and that will let DW get back here on Friday.
Just got another batch of logs in and the oil top up should be here in a day or two. Warm it isnt
Still holding back on the sowing, I want some warmth in the ground first!0 -

Well, there's inland and there's sub-tropical Mid Devon, where midday looked like this:
Went for a walk.:D It wasn't sunshine all the way, but not too bad. It's around 8C at the moment, but we've got used to thinking of that as 'warm.'
Glad GS is improving, rhiwfield, didn't realise he was so bad.
Our log man went to hospital in the helicopter 2 weeks ago, having fallen from a roof. He's recovering fast now, but just as well we had a double delivery last time!0 -
Snow again this morning, so definately am not planting anything outside.
Would usually have the first pickings of rhubarb by second weekend in March and it is still a week away. Virtually no leaf break yet on fruit bushes and trees.
Will plant some more stuff in the house at the weekend but have very little window space. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
In Bwlchtocyn to open up the caravan - DD2, SiL + Grandtwins due here on Saturday but not sure if they'll bother!
We got down here while it was still just about light, and have been running the central heating ever since. Even with some solar gain we're only up to about 68F and my feet in my sheepskin boots are freezing!
Snow on the mountains (we came the A55 coast road), the snow line looked pretty low to me for the time of year. Chap from across the field went into the village this morning and tells us the road from Portmadoc to Bala was closed due to the snow that fell last night! Hopefully with it being the equinox things will begin to warm up a bit with the longer days?
Sun been cracking the flags since about 10am, OH replacing the rotted logwood edging to the "hedge" by the patio with slates, so far has just done one test one. Looks as if the agapanthus we planted in the "hedge" has survived the winter. We had it in a ginormous pot, but decided to take the pot home as we're not sure how long we'll be able to keep the caravan on, so am gradually taking some of the better stuff home.
Our next door neighbours, who became good friend over the years have given up their caravan. He had a heart attack back in the autumn, but we hope to see them come summer as they have friends with a cottage nearby who they visit, so we hope they will pop over for a barbie or just a chinwag and a tea and biscwit... Their caravan has gone already and there's just the patch of earth by their patio. The patio now looks very small, though when it was by the caravan it looked quite big! And as for the caravan footprnt - how on earth does so much get crammed into such a tiny space?!!! (these are not the big new double size vans. but a bit bigger than the old ones - 12 ft? wide, and about 24 ft? long)
Apparently our landlord has someone lined up already, but they're not coming down till April, so the plot is clear. It feels kind of sad at the moment!
Seen 2 boats out earlier, one largish sailing boat (hardy souls!) and a motor boat.
Off out now to inspect the jasmine to see if it's survived the winter. I can tell from inside the caravan the honeysuckle has! Must prune the rose bush too, though doubtless the rabbits will be doing that later in the year! Last year myxi seemed rife here, but the bunnies are making a comeback already, OH has blocked off one burrow from the next field and filled in a bunny scrape in the hedge already.
If it wasn't quite so cold it would be bloody fabulous here today, sun on the patio, looks ripe for barbie weather, but the reality is it's horrid chilly!0 -
Have not checked the forecast but temperatures are plummeting here now. It's been a beautiful day, but with those come those clear, clear skies.0

Pembrokeshire south of the A40 If you are worried by the 'language issue,' though personally I'd risk other places in West Wales. The soil can be good in Pembrokeshire. It often seems to be poor, however, where the scenery's nicest!
Thanks. Certainly looks interesting on Googlemaps. Spent a bit of time round St Davids and Fishguard but that was years ago.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Playing catch up again.
Sorry to hear that GS has been scarily unwell Rhiwfield. Sounds as if things are easier - I do hope so.
The postage hike on the 2nd April is rather bad for ebaying as there are no other alternatives here I don't think. I'll just have to be super careful on what I declutter weight & size wise.
Alfie - Hope your dad is getting better - what a time you've had.
I await lambs. T'is cold & clear, but dry. We have a mink according to the local gamekeeper who is coming back this evening to try & get it.....again.0 -
morning all:j:j
Choille mink:eek::eek::eek:
Yep the Royal mail Increase has def come at the wrong time for me...BUT it might be the boot up the butt I need to list more..
If possible I will go with royal mail, you need a min of 1000 parcels a year to be elegible for a online business account. so I worked it out over 45 weeks ( deducted 7 weeks for illness, hols, crimbo etc) its approx 23 parcels a week.
I don't know what the % of listings turn into sales these days???? But I should imagine I would have to have at least 60 plus live listings at anyone time.
Basically I need money from my ebay business and private account, for work, and money for the ranch, no pressure:o:o
I have 18 things listed at mo, ( small value items) but normally by now i would have had more watchers/ possible bids.
On the ebay board, they say when there is a free listing weekend, their sales just plummet, and when they list at any other time their sales go back up ( this is private sellers)
Rhiwie does it effect you as a business seller??? choille does it effect you too???Work to live= not live to work0
