i have bid and LOST on various items and im sooooo miffed i lost the sheep vases... :(

Alf, didnt notice you were the underbidder!! I think the winning bidder still got a bargain though :p :rotfl::rotfl:. There were 17 and 14 watchers on those, think the others must have been watching Eastenders and dozed off :D

I wish you'd PMd me though, really dont want to disappoint you atm, you've got your hands quite full enough!

Just listed 14 items, mostly porcelain miniatures, my favourite item is the Scranton store frontage cup from c1900/1910, I just love items that tell a story or give a glimpse of the past.

Hope your Mum's okay Alfie & you are not running yourself ragged.

Dave that sounds like poetic justice for Mr Dog.

Came home in the snow. Really cold & we must do the sheep soon - drench etc - Goodness knows how as Mr Choille is pretty lame just now & I don't feel too strong, but we'll get there somehow.

Just had an email some one from Ireland wanting to return an item for refund as it doesn't suit her...............................gee.

Btw, for the bayers on the thread, you'll need to adjust Royal Mail postal prices on listings before long. From 2nd April shoebox size parcels (up to 750g) up from £2.20 to £5.20 :eek::eek:

Crikey, that's a heck of an increase for RM, rhiw!!

alfie, these things come in 3s so fingers crossed nothing else can go wrong for you!! Hope your family get well soon.

We have had horrible weather this morning ~ blizzards with heavy snow flying in all directions :( The roads were awful & I felt very unsafe driving as even the main roads were ungritted.

Saw Carol on BBC weather this morning & she was standing outside in glorious sunshine!! Looked cold where she was but it was lovely blue skies. The sky here is heavy & dark & looks full of snow still :(

Stay safe & warm daydreamers :)

Sunny here, no overnight frost and light wind only :)

Plants are trying to get going but being held back by the cold and knocked back by the damaging winds we had.

Run out of logs and oil tank light is flashing, means we'll have to get more fuel in at winter prices :(

I look at our finances and its death by a thousand cuts. Above inflation rise in costs, benefits reduced, pensions deferred, capped and CPI linked instead of RPI, 4% rise in Council Tax set against reduced services, long waiting lists mean we have to pay for consultants fees and MRI scans. And with the pound declining expect even higher food and energy fuel bills.

We'll manage ok, living fairly frugally means we're not overstretched and not likely to be so, but I feel sorry for those closer to the breadline. Not the right time to rely on the State for help :(

did you warn you Rhiwie about the RM parcel price increases.

In a week or two, I will be baying alot, and will prob go for a RM business account.you got to post out a 1000 parcels or more to qualify, and the prices are more or less what they are now...

Drawback is IF you do not send 1000 plus parcels in the year, they will charge you the normal PO counter prices:eek::eek:

so I worked it out 1000 divided by 45 weeks ( I left out 7 weeks to cover christmas, hols, being ill etc) and it works out approx 23 parcels per week..

Just come home now, got a funeral to go too:o not looking forward to it... a friend of ours who had the rock'n'roll lifestyle in his day died.. He used to be Cosy Powel's drum tech, Roadied for whitesnake, deep purple etc...

So going to the pub later, so hope hubby doesn't get too drunk

CTC, I only posted again because I hadnt realized before the impact of the above inflation increase + parcel size changes meant a huge rise for one of the most common parcel and weight sizes. I looked at the business rates and didnt think that these saved all that much. Dont the parcel size changes apply to business users as well?

Sad news about the funeral :(

no it doesn't Rhiwie... and the prices are only a few more pennies than now.

It really is going to catch aload of people out...

watch your listings from now on, for when they are finishing, AND factor in any late payers, which might then make you post the parcels after the price increase. As you know Rhiwie, we are in the middle of a mamouth task:eek::eek:, but once that is done, will def be using RM business mail
    http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RoyalMail_BusinessContractServices_April2013d.pdf

    hope the link works,

the parcel rates 24 and 48 are on page 6 -7???

the prices are plus vat, and there is a 2.5% petrol surcharge.

At those prices you will have to take them to your rearest depot? or for £930 plus vat a year they will pick up of you on a daily basis, which works out at approx £2.90 - £3.00 a day.

If not I think myhermes is the next cheapest, BUT there has been some some bad stories about their service, plus will they be able to cope with the surge after Easter. plus will they put their prices up with the demand????

A good turn out for the funeral, and one of the songs were 'I wish you well' by whitesnake... which up until then i was holding it together, but a few of us close friends just crumbled after that.. I just couldn't shop hawling...and then when we were walking out played one of cosy powel'ls clasical drum pieces...

Went back to the local pub, and got quite drunk..

With seeing everyone etc and one thing the funeral of a very dear friend made me realise I have lost my party spirit, and I know our dear friend wouldn't want that, so we are going to sart going out again... and once the warm weather comes we have told peeps that our ranch will be party central, and 2 fingers up to the neighbours.. Life is too short...

Looks as though the sun is shining out there, but there is real hard frost on the ground
