Not much to report from this neck of the woods.

Yesterday we had to return DD2 to Exeter, where her lift back to uni would be waiting, so we made a day of it in the van and took the monster lawnmower to a local agri-engineers en route. The prognosis isn't good, as the chappie there said it was like another he'd had in with a similar problem, which couldn't be sorted. It's a design fault , but mine is a little different, apparently.:( At least he seemed well versed in his subject.

If we can't fix the mower, which he dated to 1993, I'll not sell it as a mower, but just put it up for spares. I reckon the B&S engine is worth £150 to someone.

We then toured a kitchen manufacturers and visited Homebase, Wickes, B&Q and A. N. Other, so I was totally confused by 5pm, but very sure that kitchens and bathrooms cost much more than I thought!:rotfl:

Looks nice outside now....best make the most of it.

Thanks CTC, I'll be checking out the infrequent user option. I dont think we'll be sending over 1000 parcels a year via RM.

Dave, its strange but re your mower we've found that sometimes dismantling and selling the bits is more profitable than selling the complete item. Often works for old clocks, china sets etc. And rusty old tools can be worth a fair bit as well.

Sometimes I'm amazed at how low furniture prices can be at auction. Might be worth a look if you're not going for a fitted kitchen but individual items instead.

Heavy frost overnight but dry again. Bit the bullet and ordered more oil, with the house being a home/office we need to factor in heating during the day in cold spells. At least the brighter weather is better for the solar pv, which went into hibernation over that prolonged gloomy period :D

It may be worth your while taking a look at any local kitchen fitting firms - we went with one just down the road. I don't think he was any more expensive than the sheds were, his fitter was fab, and he matched internet price for stuff like the fridge and cooker. We bought the Elica fan on the net though, and his fittter put it up for us as part of the deal. The other great thing was he had good ideas, and most of them we went along with as they were things we hadn't considered.

We were also fortunate to have a local bathroom stockist near us too, we've had higher than usual loos put in as I was really struggling getting up off the low level one we have at old home. :o So didn't really have the option of going to the sheds for those. He did us reasonable deals on the stuff we had from him - quite a lot of stuff as we were putting in shower room downstairs as well as refitting bathroom. Plus we had an ex display shower screen for the bathroom, which worked out very reasonable, but that was just we were lucky he was changing his display at the time!

We did go round all the sheds first, just to begin to get ideas, but we both got so confused that it was really great to have helpful and knowledgeable people to help us out! :j

Yes, the local manufacturer is no dearer than Magnet, though when it comes to haggling - and we will - I think the big corp may prove cheaper. We'll see. ;)

Some of the stuff in the sheds really isn't much good, but as you say, visiting there is just to get ideas really.

I think we might look at a secondhand kitchen for kitting out the utility and we already have shower, screen, loo and some basins we can re-use, so it certainly won't be all new.

Blooming glorious day here, and very quiet too. No tractors. Nothing! Don't know where everyone is, but I've been trying to finish the hedging. :)

Polytunnel went down to -4.1c last night, which is about the lowest it's been.

I am here and doing well :D just don't have anything to report. We booked a holiday and decided on Worcestershire as it is a firm family favourite and we know we will have a lovely time there. However we have made a note of all the places that were recommended by your good selves ;)

Not doing too well on the money raising front :(

Glad things are settling and improving for you alfie. :A

I'm around, but there's nothing much to report here either as we are just continuing with the jobs we've been doing.

Mr Dog is still digging too, and with this rain it must be like the Somme up there, but as he has a relatively small area, I can only conclude it's either septic tank or nuclear bunker-related. ;)

I see Microsoft have updated me to IE 10 without asking. Apparently, this autocorrects on MSE, so if I write 'Rummer' it underlines it and demands I call her 'Rammer' ! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Download Chrome! ;)

Bit wet here today, and just had visitation from GrandTwins. They went to visit MiL this morning with OH, so called in for some lunch. Ended in tears for one of them - suspect he didn't get long enough nap on way back from the Nursing home. But mainly was a nice visit, and they love being spun around on my computer chair and our leather arm chairs. Almost as good as a swing park here! :rotfl:

Still no sign of our camellia flowers opening. They started on New Years Day last year, I'm surprised they're still in tight bud now. Maybe they know something we don't know? ;)

Rain back again after a bit of a break (lucky as meant we could get GrandTwins into car in the dry).

Brought some pots back from old home a couple of days ago that we think have agapanthus plants in them. These have grown from seeds from the plants at the caravan in Bwlchtocyn. They don't come true to type, but are still nice blue flowers - some of our seedlings flowered last year. :) And given the cost of agapanthus plants in the garden shops and/or nurseries it's a much cheaper way of increasing the plants! :money:

Not great :( but could still change. For your part of the world the current forecast is:
Good Friday 29th - High of 12, cloudy with a couple of showers
Saturday 30th - High of 14, cloudy, with possible shower
Easter Sunday 31st - High of 13, cloudy, a shower
Easter Monday/April Fools' Day - High of 11, cloudy with perhaps a shower.
