Did you catch the story about how archaeologists dug up a car park in Leicester to find the skeleton of Richard III? Well apparently they're now digging up a nearby tesco's car park to try and find his horse! :D

    Alf, thinking of you.

CTC, I use Collect + quite a bit, not perfect but not bad and I've been fully compensated for damage when it occurred. Its odd that at my age I've finally learned how to pack china and glass able to withstand RM and couriers. Sent a large and delicate 60s handkerchief vase the other day, something I wouldnt have even entertained a while back :D

    Dave, impressive progress.

Went to Lidl to get some broad bean seeds, they dont sell them so its garden centre today. Will plant spuds in a couple of weeks and you can feel the garden coming back to life after winter dormancy. Buds on pear trees swelling. Am quite happy at sowing very little so far, things will grow fast once the weather warms with fewer losses and better germination. Will start most direct sown crops in April.

Rozee, looking after sick children is bad enough when you are well, must have been a nightmare being ill at the same time

Bought a WWII medal set with named recipient in a lot on Wednesday. So sad that things like that get sold off and are no longer wanted by family or line has ended. Whoever buys them will no doubt research the fellow and at least respect his wartime efforts.

Itsme, sinus finally improving, hope you're on the mend as well.

Yes, slowly & surely on the mend, thanks, rhiw. Glad to hear that you are, too.
Mind you, it's snowing here (not settling) & has gone cold again so will be keeping snuggled & muffled up as best as possible.

Rummer, can vouch for North Yorkshire ;) Northumberland too :D

I wouldn't mind going back to Devon, itsme. I was reminded of how beautiful it is on a recent episode of 'Escape to the Country' when they showed Lynton & Lynmouth. It would be a huge trek for us as well but we've done it a couple of times before.

We have snow flurries here & it's bitterly cold

Its very windy out there this morning, and it looks cold

If I had to tell tourists best places to go in our area, my mind would go blank:cool::p as apart from one or two places, its prob because I was born and bred here, and grown up in the area I see things everyday,

I don't think anything of the black mountains:cool: as to me they are, well mountains:rotfl:BUT when We go down to pembrokeshire I absolutely love driving through the countryside, and seeing 'proper' quaint villages/hamlets with just a handfull of old houses.

    Brecon is nice too,

Alfie... yes I had you pm about the kitchen sorry didn't get back to you, its all systems go here from last friday, so my head is firmly up my bottom at mo:rotfl: would love to see some pics, plus you have seen our place, and know what type of look I am looking for. Can you pm me your addy again please...thanks

Ended up staying in last night, and hubby went out for a few hours.

Rhiwie.... We have a collect+ drop off point close by, so it is an option, at the moment once everything is settled, and in place so to speak;) I will need to be selling online more or less full time, for work, and private sales, so I have seen seriously considering RM business account, but will def try out collect+ and myhermes to start with ( until I get my sales up)

What a difference a day makes. It's cold and windy. I can't quite believe we were at the beach yesterday with a balmy breeze caressing our shoulders as we paddled. Maybe I dreamt it?
