Nice looking place Davesnave, but it goes look as though some of the land is a steep slope..
I love i when the owners of the houses leave their coats over the back of the chairs etcWork to live= not live to work0 -
Hmmm, you'd need crampons to tend that garden
Wind is soughing thru the trees. Here easterlies dont affect us that much as the ridge just to the east protects us, but it sure is noisy and bittrely cold.0 -

Oh yes, about half is steep, but it's all south facing, sheltered and you'd never run out of wood, stone or water! And there's a garage to build into.

alfie - hope dad is holding on and getting better. How soon can son get off the crutches?
Lir - sorry to hear about special horse.
Well snow and sunshine here and bitter wind. feels like January again! Except January was warmer. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
A thin layer of white stuff on the hills a couple of miles inland but nothing here. Apparently an inch fell 3 miles inland but much more fell on top. Black ice about, too. It's bitter & still blowing hard.
If you remember Lynmouth Hilll, pink poppy, a tree has come down & blocked it.
I get the feeling that deep inside you're still on the look out for a Welsh property, Dave.
The land with the property doesn't look as steep as around the moor here. There are plus & minus points to steep land. As we've said before rain runs down so, other than in the level spots or where water courses get blocked, the land doesn't become water-logged & usually dries much quicker than flat areas.
Yes, I watched Countryfile. One thing I must say about Prince Charles is that he puts his money where his mouth is. He's right, too, that the small family farm (particularly in upland areas) is under threat. As most hill farmers will tell you, it's great to live in areas of beauty but scenery doesn't put food on the table, clothes on backs nor pay bills. I've known them run farms & raise families on less money than a school leaver often turns their nose up at.0 -

No, I won't need one of those for quite a while yet, but I put up what I think are interesting, affordable properties if I see them; Daydream properties that could become reality. The key word there is "affordable," so it's likely to be Wales.
I'll put up an unaffordable one near here later. :rotfl:0 -
It's not in a bad location, either, Dave. It's quite hard to find property with land near St Dogmaels, though I imagine it's up a hill. What looks amazing around here is this http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-34137571.html
It's on an amazing plot (the Eistedfodd y Urdd festival is going to be held there in May) and the price seems bonkers for what you're getting, but we had a sticky beak at it at the weekend (just the grounds) and there are near neighbours at Cliwendeg Farm. It's rather a strange set up given the huge amount of land that is the front lawn, (there's a horse racing set up with hurdles on it!) having a farm in your back garden!0 -

That's what I mean by unaffordable! Just running it would cost an arm & a leg.
OK here's one from Devon that looks good value, but the deadline has passed.....

If they think that kitchen and bathroom need modernisation, they should see ours! :rotfl:0 -
The price probably reflects the amount of money that will be needed to be spent to get it into a decent shape, rozee. It's an ex residential care home & the Council is offloading it.0

Rozee I could see that as a great comune type place:D
with parties and bike rallies on the front lawn.
talking of community living, can you remember the programme castaways that was on a few years back????
I think this is where ben fogal started his tv career onWork to live= not live to work0
