If I had to choose an end for her it would have been something like this. We have been together well over fifteen years, not far off twenty.

I though of you doing the same recently while w were covering g her with a tarp. I don't hold out much hope for our tarp, terrible wind here.

It always seems to happen on the grim days weatherwise, doesn't it :( If you're like me you won't rest easy until she's buried or collected.

So sorry to hear about Special Horse, lir. Thought you had been quiet here.

It seems that the majority of people on this thread have been going through hard times lately. I have a few non-internet friends also going through similar things and I'm humbled by their general cheerfulness and fortitude. :o

Out and about today, visiting MiL for Mothering Sunday and ripping roofing battens down into thin pieces, making them much more economical. You see, we've learned that simply stapling plastic Tensar type netting to posts, produces too much strain at the staples in high winds. Obvious perhaps, but not to us when we designed the chicken orchard fencing! :o

Anyway, with the roofing battens at 12mm thickness, we'll now screw them over the netting, trapping the full height of it at the posts. Hopefully, the Tensar should then do another 3 years or more. ;)

Coming back down the M5 tonight, there was a blizzard of sleet and snow was lying on the Blackdown Hills. We feared the worst, but arriving here it was still reasonably dry with no sign of the white stuff. Vicious wind though.....and still some of the hens were out!:rotfl:

Well, special horse was PtS this afternoon, Quick, unexpected and gut wrenching.

I told her to warn them on heaven that that terror of Old Horse will be following on soon.
    Sad.... :(

    morning all:j:j

flip the weather is sooooo cold, and the wind is making it feel ten times worse..

no snow here, but the 'odd' flake does fall now and again.

Did you see countryfile last night?

I love it that prince charles had his old coat patched when it had holes etc in it...

He did seem at home and relaxed when he was talking about rural/eco things... I must admit I do like him

Well we haven't blown away in the night or been snowed-in, but by heck, it's parky out there! Looks like a day for working in the poly.

I saw some of Countryfile last night CTC. I can certainly identify with Prince Charles having holes in his clothes from hedging. The difference is that his would be worth patching, while mine are things that were at the end of their useful lives before I stated hedging in them! :rotfl:

Found this rather appealing property this morning. Quite a lot of boxes ticked, but going for a pee in the middle of the night would be a bit of a palaver. The lady from West Wales Props must approve of it as she's included her Jag in the pictures. She never does that if it's a grotty place! ;):p:rotfl:
