Alfie.....:grouphug:
Speak to you soon.
take care and don't forget to have plenty of tea and biscwits to keep you going..
the weather has been uplifting the last day or so, but I think the rain is coming in, and def forcasted for over the weekend:o:o
Davesnave when you said the por was 'piggy' did you mean it ha a stronger pork taste/aroma?
It coul have been a boar then, as when the boar reaches a certain age then the musky smell of his hormones etc 'taints' the meat, so changes the meat slightly.
I feel like a right numpty, as I shared a link to say the clocks were going forward on sunday, but it was an american one:cool::rotfl: when I told hubby the clocks were going forward on sunday, he was landed, as he we could go straight up to the ranch after work..
Can't get over it a year yesturday we won the ranch at auction...I honestly on't know where the time has gone!!!!Work to live= not live to work0 -
Oh dear, I hope it all works out OK alfie, and that you're able to take a break in a day or two. You'll be in all of our thoughts.
CTC the pig was advertised as plain 'pork chops,' but the meat looked dark. I decided to buy one, but he gave me two because they were close to their 'use by' date. They were OK, but not special, and their flavour was strong. So, certainly better than bland supermarket pork, but not something I'd go out of my way to buy again when I can have Pete's pork!
Pete's builder friends have been going a storm, so we've decided to keep them another week to do the back wall of the barn and the Yorkshire boarding on the gable.
Meanwhile we've finished the hedge out at the front, so that's out of the way and we can start thinking about the veggies a bit. We have to build some more deep beds both in and out of the poly, or we'll have nowhere to put anything. The 'old' veggie garden is due to be grassed over. Assuming we may have another year like 2012 sometime, we'll need it as a spring-free area in the future.0 -
Alf, thats awful news. Big hugs and I hope things start improving.0

Dear Alfie, I do hope your son has a relatively comfortable flight, and improves fast. Hugs for you and your Mum too - hope your Dad improves fast too. What a chapter of accidents!0

I''ve not been around much, as everyone in the huosehold has been so poorly. It's been over two weeks now. I've had it the worst and am on a cocktail of drugs: antibiotics, inhalers, painkillers, anti allergy.... I hate going to the doctors or taking medicine, so it's most unlike me.
Then spotted alfie's news. I am thinking of you, alf. Children and parents, eh? Both such worries.
Whoever said that living in a caravan in the great outdoors would mean we were all really healthy was talking rubbish.
It's just hit me though: this isn't just one of those setbacks that knock me off my plans for world domination and an early start to the planting season and building works - this is life!
As I alluded in my earlier posts, I'm making some readjustments about what it is possible to do within certain timescales. I think this year it will be sorting out the building work. Next year will have to be planting and the year after world domination
We are meeting up with the quantity surveyor next week (all being well, but there is this thing called the Pembrokeshire Promise, which applies especially to all things pertaining to building...)
Tenders to the builders after that. Then there's stuff to sort out on our rental properties between now and the end of April when I do hope the building work can start.
As far as the grounds/land is converned, I think we can buy some storage (huge Costco sheds) and perhaps get some quick growing vegiies planted. Problem is, when we are away things die... Hoping that I might get my neighbour to look after my seedlings in exchange for some of them.0
