Cool and clear here today with some gorgeously sunny bits :D

I think this weekend weather permitting will be our big garden weekend where I (hopefully we) get the beds and sheds ready :j

I haven't lurked on here for a while, so sorry for popping in out of the blue, but when I came across this earlier looking for permaculture books I knew where to post about it.

    http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/106536833/smallholding-for-sale-ta3-7snreduced-to-410000.html

We're about 10 years away from our plan for a smallholding otherwise this would be tempting. It's a bit bigger in acreage than might be practical for us and not sure about taking on a seven acre wood but still...

I considered one a few houses up from that one around 2003, but came to the conclusion that it was beyond our budget with all the work that was needed. Can't remember anything about it now, like the acreage, but I think it's attraction was the potential to be sub-divisible + a decent road for trading.

What I didn't fancy was looking down on the M5 and being on a north facing slope.

With Stamp Duty etc, £410k would be over budget for us. We bought our place for less than the price of our old semi-dee. :D

Endless grey here, but I'm getting used to the low temperatures. It was mainly digging today, so I was hardly going to feel chilly anyway.

A man comes to see us about wood pellet boilers tomorrow. He does other stuff too. Not making any decisions at this point, but just seeing who's out there. ;)

i know tempting fate but my "fox in the woods" comes by every evening and i give it some nosh. the other day i was half hour late and it was sat waiting for me....with the goose and ducks sat 20yds away....
seems to respect that i love all animogs and leaves them alone...
Bless you Alf. I bounce between being a bit buddhist and running around, crazed with a gun - or ant killer! Consistency is not my strong suit. I like to think of it as being able to see everyone's point of view :)

Oooh! I know this seller from Facebook! It's a small world.

Dave, you make me laugh. Is there anywhere you've not checked out as potential to buy? You are my guru :)

    Yorkshire. :p

This area is my home territory. Anyway, checking places out by computer is cheap, though it used to be harder before Street View etc.

The house that we really should have bought was just off the Blackdowns at Uffculme. That was in 2003. I still won't go near there, because I just beat myself up! :(

In a way, you're right, but there was a practical outcome eventually.;) More than you'd get by setting your phaser to stun anyway!

We looked for a very long time, (7 years on & off) because circumstances usually dictated that looking was all we could do.:(

I gave up on under dog men a few years ago when I decided that I preferred the Pack Leader (as a counterpart to my Head Biachi of course :D). Don't sell yourself short. One beautiful person deserves another.
