Apart from tomorrow, it looks dry and windy here till Friday. Bonfires, perhaps?
We have just had our real tax repayments this morning...
That's a lot faster than the response from Op£anr$ach.* I emailed them early last week about the letter I sent in November and still not even acknowledged. For a communications company they're pretty bad at communicating....I will put the text up here later for you all to giggle at.

Oh why wait, here it is:
Dear Op$n&ach,
On 1st November I wrote to your Shrewsbury office regarding a telegraph pole on our property, but I have not received so much as an acknowlegement from them.
I realise now that I should have made this enquiry to your department, so I am attaching a copy of the letter, which is self explanatory. However, if I can copy and pass it to you, why can't Shrewsbury?
The only detail I need add is that we have had some very wet weather since November, and the matter of blocked culverts has been much in the news. I don't believe the culvert where your cable runs needs clearing right now, but it would be interesting to know what will happen when it does. It is not a bucket and shovel job, so I will use a digger, but I am far from clear how damage to your cable might be avoided in such a narrow space.
May I please have an answer to the question above and to the important ones I raised in my earlier letter regarding the existence of a wayleave agreement.
Yours sincerely,0 -
oooooo Davesnave... nice letter.
so basically then, they need to work on their cables and poles on your land, BUT there is no room? access? permission?;) no rental payment for the use of the trench/land?
I am a bit confused Davesnave:o:pWork to live= not live to work0 -

Yes, that's more or less it. The pole went in at some point in 2008, but there seems to be no wayleave in place, as I don't think the previous owners here realised. (It was very overgrown!!!) It went in from Mr Dog's side, since when he has built a big shed and put in two lots of conifers, which are still smallish, but won't be shortly! So, no access from there soon.:D
Some time in 2010 there was a lightning strike that meant rewiring, but Op88re88h came onto our land frm Mr D's twice to fix it without seeking permission. They laid the new cable in the culvert that carries floodwater, which is deep and only a couple of feet wide, max.
Daft b*ggers! :rotfl:
*I have disguised the name in this and earlier post as companies often Google themselves.0 -

Dave, the one thing I find difficult to forgive in dealing with companies is when they ignore my letters, especially when I've spent hours compiling them
Alf, I can do posts like that as well, but usually need a few glasses of red first
Lovely morning here too, but still got another couple of days of meds so its inside again. I'm developing an increasing empathy with the plight of vampires :rotfl::rotfl:
Bit of research help appreciated if anyone else is housebound or bored on a glorious day like this. What is the leather item 17.5cm diameter x 8.5cm height? Who is the studio potter (red earthenware glazed dish)?

Dave - I don't know if it's still the case but it used to be Fuj1t$u who did the cable work for BT. Our insurer had to go after them on one occasion. I don't think BT had it's own diggers etc. - not around here, anyway.
Not sure if they were part of the same company as the IT division but, if so, they were blacklisted by the Government last year, I believe.
Rhiw - I'll have a look a little later. No name anywhere on the leather box?0
