Hmmmm.....as an only child, I had to fight to get any telly geared to my interests.I used to rush home on a Friday night to catch "Ready Steady Go!" which was the only programme likely to feature live bands. Even then, TOTP with all its miming was very uncool!
And there was "That Was The Week That Was" which I didn't always 'get,' but at least the parents would be tucked up in bed by then....It complimented Private Eye, which many of us read at school, even though we'd get it confiscated and a detention if found out.
My Mum was reasonably open-minded. I remember she signed a petition against Mary Whitehouse's attempts to strengthen censorship. If I remember correctly her support was canvassed by two openly gay men who were friends of ours. That was a bit of a rarity then, especially in these parts!0 -

Hows the snow situation CTC?
We've had our first flurry here this morning. It wont last long at home with the salt air, but the horse is stabled 5 miles inland and it always gets it bad. She's tucked up all cosy with two rugs on and a big pile of haylage. Yes, I know she's a highland, but I nearly lost her from strangles during the summer, and as it took four months for her to get better, she isn't exactly at her best at the moment. Wish I was tucked in at home, had to come to work instead0 -
Hope your hoss bears up well Molly. There's very light, powdery snow falling here. My mum's coming today on the train so I trust her journey won't be delayed. It's about 6 hours, so long enough.0

Hopefully it will stay light until she gets to you. I'm hoping it stays light so that I get home on the train tonight! I can handle getting stuck at home tonight, but don't want to be stuck here lol!0

Thanks, I've watched half on the laptop & will watch the other half later. I hadn't realised it was part of the seasonal 'watch' programmes ~ quite pleased when I found out as I rather like Chris Packham
My DH & DD2 are off work/school today because of the weather. DD1 was not impressed that she still had to go to college!! :rotfl: We have horrible sleety snow that's coming down sideways at the moment
Hope everyone & all the animogs are keeping warm.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
