The sensible way to tackle it might be via insurance penalties tor accidents when you ate not adaquately prepped for weather?
That only penalises those who insure their cars, though. Apparently 1 in 25 don't. It's more likely that someone who is already likely to break the law will be willing to do so with another, too.0 -
just read the instructions ( very rare) we only need to 'rest' the fridge freezer for 2 hours:beer::beer::beer:Work to live= not live to work0

Ah yes, but I would geld them once caught.. Or have their right hand of or something.
Hmm, maybe I would make them pay for central heating that doesn't work? I'd do summat!0 -

Have you any idea how much it would cost me to put winter tyres on the van? If I did, they'd have to stay on permanently!
Seriously, if it's dodgy, I just don't go out. Last time either of us left Snave Acres was Wednesday night. Different if you are working and earning, of course. Then, needs must, and being prepared is v important.
And having just gone through all the figures for tax purposes, I'm very aware that we're not earning. Even when we were, the business was spending twice as much as it earned! :rotfl:
The good part was that the business did some things we were going to do anyway......;););):D
Glad the new fridge freezer saved the day CTC. Where would we be without them?
6 eggs today, and yesterday!0 -
morning all,
was mega cold last night, but didn't feel it in the house, as we had the fire 'bouncing' most of the night, so its still nice and warm this morning.
We need to bring the caravan down from the ranch some time today, to get it ready for wednesday, and the way they have done our new entrance here its going to be bit of a mare, due to the length of the caravan and the swerving entrance..
We are no way ready for next week, and tbh I don't think we have to sell to even cover the stand cost ( unless they can see the crafting side of welsh blankets)
They say we are going to have more snow monday/tuesday????
When there was a whohar sp? about 4x4's a few years back, I started seeing more of them on the roads:rotfl: I personally love them, they are cart horses and are meant to be worked...Work to live= not live to work0 -
CTC I hope you managed to rescue some of your freezer food in time. Fridges are so much quicker at settling these days.
I'm so jealous of you all with your snow, we've had not a drop. It's been lovely and sunny and crisp here though which will do. Had a very productive weekend so far. Ordered my veg seed ( along with some little dorrit sunflowers and some calendula for fun) from T&M after converting my club card vouchers. 30 quids worth of seed for £2.62, so I am very pleased. Finally phoned the tax office to tell them I hadn't traded in last couple of years so I didn't have to fill out SA, cutting it fine I know. Then did some shifting around of furniture and swapping kitchen cupboards, finishing at 10 last night completely knackered! Oh, also contacted the lady we gave the chickens to when we had to move in May, and I can drop in and visit next weekend. So pleased, I've missed them so much lately.
Off to pick up DH at airport, coming home from work for a couple of days...or should that be to work?0 -
Molly, it is a small world, one of our Drs. here is from Ardrossan!!
DD2 made a snowman yesterday ~ unfortunately he's already lost his nose & one eye overnight!! :rotfl:
We have more snow forecast here as well, CTC, I'm a bit fed up with it already to be honest. Did anyone see the programme on BBC2 last night about the Winter of 1963?? I missed most of it but will watch it on catch-up as it looked interesting. Apparently the bad weather/snow etc. went on for weeks 'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Molly all went on the fire heap to be burned ( our bin men only come round every 2 weeks, so i dont want to leave meat in the bins the smell will be:eek::eek:)
so good you can go and visit your chooks, if there any chance of you having any where you are now?
If you cant is there a community farm anywhere near you???? where you could poss do a bit of volentry workWork to live= not live to work0
