Just touched zero here, but lovely now. I think the outside water can stay on until Tuesday night, as it's due to cloud up again later.

Off to the architect tomorrow. We will try and break the changes to him gently.....:o:rotfl:

Dave, we are now, having submitted planning on our 6th version of the original design.... How have you managed the fees?

We've now identified two builders we think we'd be very happy with, one who will be competent, and a couple more who need to still be investigated. We've still not had detailed plans drawn up. Can't really progress until that happens, although we do have the QS who will draw up a schedule of works to ensure that all the builders tender to the same job.

It's sleeting here now. Got 2 robins seem to be trying to take over our front garden as territory since we started putting bird seed out there on the "path" that surrounds the ornamental quince (which is beginning to flower :D ) so we've put a bird table out there too. We had it in the back, but the pigeons and squirrels just ate everything on it. Got a dunnock coming for the bird seed too. :j Now we've put out one of those mesh thingies for ground feeders and put a dollop of bird food in that too. I like to sit in our front porch for my smoking vice, :o so can watch the birds there as well as in the back garden. Bit parky with the door open though! (certainly is cool!)

I love our bird feeding station. It used to be a table, but has expanded! There's nothing rare, but flocks of chaffinches, robins, tits of all varieties, black birds and formerly squirrels. Since we trapped and dispatched, there have been no furry friends. OH went out to check on the dreys this morning and they seem to be falling apart, so it seems as though we've resolved the squirrel problem for now.

The water was frozen solid today.

    evening peeps:D

    i am a tad

i KNEW my buyer of big cupboard was gonna be a pain and sure as eggs....she was...
i said in the ad that it was aproximate measurements [couldnt find measure :o] she never messaged for exact, but when i got there [80mile round trip] she said it was 3" not wide enough.....
she then said she would "take it of my hands" at 2/3 the price..
i said well no,cos if its not wide enough, its not wide enough...
she started blustering and trying to knock me down, but i just drove off....:D

moral of the story.....put EXACT measurements and buy 6 tape measures....:D

    What a pain, alf!

If measurements were critical and you said approximate, you'd think she'd have asked for confirmation. But I suppose that some buyers might think "approximate" measurements mean differences in millimetres, not inches.

Ouch. As you say, lesson learnt. I know what to buy you for your birthday :D

Is this the beginning of a PITA Ebay buyer plague????

It's such a minefield selling on ebay. I take my hat off to all of you who do. I've always found it a total PITA. I assumed it was because of my inexperience but it seems to be that buyers expect professional service at cut prices.

To be fair most buyers are fine. But you get the fraudsters, liars and cheats as well. Even when you offer a fully professional service they will still try to take advantage. At which point evisceration seems fully appropriate :D
