  • A little snow this morning, perhaps a quarter inch. We're not going to Hereford today, we decided the weather was a bit risky and I'd be driving back in the dark likely with ice on the roads. So with our sensible heads on we decided not. Chickens are fine, although I expect their feet are cold! Weather station says current temp is -0.7C.

Alex, wise move..if the journey isnt urgent, then its best to stay in, or local anyway, where you know the roads.

I know I got to get ready for work, ( should be there by now), but i just havent got the 'umf' to get up and go...:rotfl:

Really do need some nice days now to lift my mood, cant stand all this doom and gloom weather...

never mind its 'choille day' tomorrow:T:T:beer::beer:

I dream of warm, dry, bright days...... I'd love to dry my washing. At least it's not snowing here, but I have a stinker of a cold. Feeling literally like I'm going to be sick with it. Not nice. :(

Rozee, we're on our nth design as well (lost count! :o) but I know we spent about £1200 on Plan A, which was passed, but never drawn up in full detail, including £400 survey fee and £150 council PP fee.

We have paid another £450 + £150 submission fee, but as we have two designs running currently, I'm not sure how this will work now. Presumably, if the larger plan is approved, the smaller one will not cause any issues and may just be regarded as an amendment. I suppose if we get ball park figures from builders, we'll have some idea which one to go detailed with.

Then, like you, it's either use the architect or QS to draw up full spec to quote on.
Our quote was £3k all in  It's money for old rope in my view. There is very little opportunity to be wonderfully creative when you are designing a box extension on the back of a bungalow. I do think our guy is probably more creative than some of the others, and technically pretty good. I'm not especially warm to the architectural profession after our recent experiences though.

Yes, but they probably thought they were artichokes. The hens have just had the left-overs. :D

I have the bonfire, but it isn't dry enough to light, so I think this may be another year when the celebration is a few days late. :(

Choille Day also means "Two weeks to submit the tax return" too!

Got my raspberry cuttings ready for a fire as long as it isnt raining. But if i put on the still wet crimbo tree I reckon Choille will see the smoke!

Tax returns became less painful as I earned less and submitted on line :D

But the next one will see me having to make a one off payment and start making payments on account. Better that way though, than losing money ;)

I'm getting a little flurry of time-wasters/non-payers/bid retractions, part of the joys of selling . But have also had some great buyers who could have been a real problem but weren't :) so I need to stop letting the PITAs get me down.

I hadn't heard of Choille before reading this thread ~ no chance of a bonfire here, would striking a match count?? :o:p:D

Davesnave, what are ocas?? I'm presuming they're vegetables & you grew them yourself??

    rozee, get well soon :)

It's just started to snow a little bit here, supposed to get heavier this afternoon but at the moment it's not laying. I've been out & stocked the bird feeders with seed, nuts, fat balls & suet blocks ~ they cost me a fortune but I do love watching them.
