. Must be feeling some how more comfortable where you are?
I have the opposite, I want more TREES. I miss the woods, and the softer hills. And the smaller views and darker skies.
I'll live though.
Yes, I'm OK here now, though I'd have preferred somewhere totally new.
We also have traffic noise, but it's not excessive, and I quite enjoy seeing the buses full of schoolchildren or the huge tractors passing.
As for trees, at this time of year we're still rather exposed, but the new hedges are growing well. My current activites are opening up the lower boundary to more sunshine, but there's only sheep down there to see us. In time, there will be new trees and I'll shut out the thatcher's muddle with some appropriate evergreens too, but there's no hurry.0 -
We've lived here for many years now and seen neighbours' conifers grow into huge trees, blocking out their light and ours. Quite a few have been chopped down and its lovely to see vistas reopen.
Things going steady here, DS2 in a lot of pain from a shoulder dislocation that wont heal, last thing he needs.
Looks like we're about to get a cold spell, dont mind that, just hope any snow doesnt stick, being on a steep hill snow can be a nightmare.0 -

Three former cottages, one cottage and a lighthouse could be holiday lets. Castle might be a bit far gone though, for me.:)0 -

It did look lovely when finished, but I would be worried with the water around the house, I know there would be liners etc, but still...
