. Must be feeling some how more comfortable where you are?
I have the opposite, I want more TREES. I miss the woods, and the softer hills. And the smaller views and darker skies.
I'll live though.

Yup, that's why we are where we are......location, location.
We cannot have what our heart truely desires where we need to be, so this has been the compromise. Most of the time it feels fine. This time of year feels iffy though.
I hope we have a decent summer. This house is happiest when it's doors and windows are all open and the fresh air pours in and poeple and animals run in and out happily.0 -

True. We bought for location, too, though ....... but with other requirements. People parting with pennies for holidaysFor that it was & remains ideal. I heard on the radio this morning that only 1% of England can hear birdsong without the noise of cars. One can certainly do that here :rotfl:
Yes, good weather is important in making us humans feel better.
I can't remember the last time I could throw all the doors & windows in this place wide open. It used to be a regular thing. I used to haul the fire basket, dogs & back out & give them a good blacking & polish. Haven't had the weather to do that for last 5 years so couldn't even if my hands could lift the bits nowadays:o0 -

We cannot hear the birds without cars. Some times of the day we can. It got a lot busier when the main road was closed and the council directed people down here...people have kept using it. but I can hear the main roads in anycase.
We do get some lovely quiet days though, with just morning and afternoon cars.
I hate noise. I'd still love an island.0 -
