CTC - is it today you're going to Hereford (or was it last week? I don't know what week it is)? We're going on Monday with Mark's sister's computer but he doesn't know yet whether we'll stay over. We've done it in the past, when his parents were still around - we'd take the kids in the summer holidays and come back the same day - but that was when we had a nice luxurious comfy car. Yes, quite nice here, too, at the moment but snow or sleet coming. They're not sure exactly where & when. It's a wet front meeting the cold thing. It looks like it will start at the weekend.
Next week is due to be much colder with night time temperatures below freezing here. Icy roads
LIR - How many radiators in the system?0 -
Fourteen. Five are very mordern, and most are not big.
( I'll let you know when my advanced warning system alerts me for our area. Looking on the map we might be just a tad south( just twenty minutes away the town to slight north east gets great snowfall, better than big hill I look out on.)0 -
Bearing in mind that I know b*gger all about plumbing let alone wood pellety things ........
Does the hot water side work properly if the rads are off or doesn't it work at all?0 -
Clear overnight, even saw some stars, just a bit misty when I woke up at 9am, but the mist has really rolled up from the river now. So I don't think we'll be heading for IKEA to spend the £20 voucher we got for buying our Xmas tree today. Maybe tomorrow, hope so as if we go this week we get free breakfast too!0

Not nice here, but yesterday was glorious, so I spent it laying more of the bottom field hedge.
Hmmm...that's going to take longer than I thought. I suppose I only did about 25'-30'.
But at least I got some pea sticks.
Looks coldish at weekend, but no mention of snow on my chart yet.0 -

IKEA sell Christmas trees?
It's too early, anyway.:p
Ours still hasn't shed any needles, but it's out on the patio now. It was chosen, cut and potted-up inside an hour, and you can't get fresher than that. DW had 300 decorations on it in all, not counting the lights. :xmastree:
As for the stupid, unstable thing she bought that was supposed to hold a medium sized tree, we got our money back, no problem. A sheep lick bucket proved far better.0 -

We are having to use hot water when heating is not on, but it's still not working properly, just not as improperly.
We have an idea now of when the independant expert can come and give opinion, dh, architect and he are having preliminary meeting in London next week. Suppliers have gone very, very quiet.
Thing s, I do feel sorry for them. Small business is stressful, and to have something go wrong in a house where by nature litigation doesn't scare the client, where their is an experienced architect with more 'sway' than might expect on a project as 'umble as ours must be very, very stressful. But....they still have to resolve it. Now that we are the other side of the new year there is little reason to keep 'fluffing' about, and while it's easier for me to keep cool without festive plans going on and being cancelled, there had to be a time w stop keeping calm and patient. We warned of this at last site meeting of last year and gave some basic requirement deadlines. I am not 100% sure but the guy in charge has been unwell over Christmas, and I am not sure this is not all too much for him to take....but you see, while extremely sympathetic, frankly, we still need either the system functioning or...some other less desirable resolve:(0
