I've just been looking up what we could have expected in 1013...
December – King Sweyn I leads a Danish invasion of England. Brits found it increasingly hard to source British bacon. The red tractor symbol would not be invented for another 980 years.
King Ethelred flees to Normandy, and Sweyn becomes King of England. Well, when was Ethelred ever ready for anything?
The Poles withdraw from Pomerania (approximate date). Another thousand horse & cart washes opened in the UK
German KingHenry II conducts his second Italian campaign
"Ve haf vays of selling zem ze Betterware."
Not much different really.
(On re-reading, this is quite embarrassing 'cos I haven't drunk much.... yet!:o:o)

We're on our own here and not going out either. We've had kids + partners since well before Christmas, so this is the first chance we've had to just slob-out.
Besides, the pub closed, and although it's allegedly re-opened, we know nothing about that yet.
Tonight, after potential SiL had spent hours adding furniture to our now splendid 3D model of the potential house, DW suddenly exclaimed, "I've had an idea.....but you're not going to like it!" She now thinks we might put the kitchen into the proposed new living room and turn the current kitchen into a living room/lounge instead.
In spite of various objections I could think of, she might have had a good idea.....:o:o
Anyway, in case I lose consciousness, I would just like to wish all of you lovely people (and the lurkers!) A Very Happy and Fruitful New Year.
Will the last one out of 2012 please close the door quietly and put the padlock on, just in case. Now we finally have it under control, we don't want it escaping into 2013!:eek::eek:0
