Good to hear you are OK, choille.:) I think alfie's area, has been bad, but having spent much of today in the polytunnel, being deafened by the drumming, I don't think we've fared terribly well either.
We'll sort our accounts in January, same as usual. Last time too.
Hope fat cat recovers and does enough mousing to repay his fees. Our cats never see a vet now, unless it's for something serious. They don't really hunt any more, so just a drain on resources really, like us public service pensioners!0 -
Fat cat is 20 & huge. He has developed a wheeze & needs a jag every few months. It's an expense but I couldn't not get it. I do wish I could buy anti biotics. I sometimes get them off the vet, but only a syringe at a time as it doesn't keep the stuff he's got to get. Vet will only let me do that a couple of times before he wants to see him - just so he can charge a fortune I guess.0

20 is fantastic going for a cat, choille. :T
He deserves a bit of help ensuring the rest of his life is as comfy as possible. It's the old story, though, as I'm sure you know. Small animal (pet) clinics always charge a fortune by comparison with the large animal side.
I've looked at the current forecast which runs until Jan 13 & wish I hadn't. No point looking forward to many dry days around here. There's going to be a lot more flooding if the forecast is right.
Just seen the policeman from the New Forest on the TV speaking about the floods down there. It's obviously true what they say. He looked about 15. Without the uniform I'd have thought he was playing truant :rotfl:0 -
Oh dear, rhiw. It's a particularly bad year for bugs.
There are now 2 schools in our area on measles alert as well as the problems with WVV & the usual coughs, colds etc.
There are going to be loads of people having a fairly miserable Christmas between illnesses & floods0 -

Ours are about 17 and 15.5, as one is the other's daughter. The younger one is autistic, but with perseverence, we've taught her to enjoy our company and even purr. She's actually quite bright, but keeps her abilities well hidden most of the time.
The older cat was very protective of our younger daughter, although she never knew her as a toddler. Even when DD2 was about 14, the cat would still race down the garden and put herself in the way of any stranger. I know this, because sometimes I was the 'stranger' entering by the back gate, and believe me, meeting Daisy with her back arched & growling was definitely scary!
I never look further ahead than the 5 day forecast. Even that they get wrong enough to give me plenty of hope.0 -

Our old girl lived until 17 or 18. Then, as with many of the farm cats & dogs around here, she just took herself off never to be seen again. Strange how they do that.0 -
