Stitchy, sounds like you and DH have had a tough year. Went through something similar a few years back, wasn't nice at the time but we managed to work through it. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Alf, take it easy, please dont overdo it.

More rain forecast, keep dry folks :(

Well I threw caution to the wind and got loads of T&M vouchers with my Tesco vouchers :D

So I have a wee heap of potatoes, shallots, spring garlic, green manure, artichokes and some turnip seeds on order that will be coming to me when they are ready :j

Time to start saving the toilet roll inners, a new sowing year is around the corner, starting with the toms in Feb :)

DW/DS2 went out 5 mins ago to get some last minute pressies, and just got back reporting village road has a foot deep stream running down it and decided wisely to come straight back home. Its proverbially p*****g down atm :(

Having the tarp over the top of the chooks run means they are out in all weathers, I've never known our garden to flood (sloping on limestone) so they should be ok. Those of you with chicken arks could always beg a lift to your nearest mountain top :D

Seriously, if its bad here then many others will be much worse off, so take care all.

Water is the worst I've ever seen it here this morning, so I know roughly what's in store when I look at the local news.

The new chicken house has a stream running under it and a quagmire around, so it's fortunate I made very solid foundations, which some people laughed at 4 months ago! :p All the same, I think we might consider relocating it altogether. That means pulling it all to bits and starting again.

Supposed to be shopping later. We'll see.;) There is someone here who will act surprised if the roads are impassable. :rotfl:

Torrential rain here too  I am quietly content though as I got the last of the pressies and all the food yesterday so I have no need to leave the house until comfortably after xmas :D

Mind you I do have to clean the house from top to bottom and decorate the dining room all before Tuesday :rotfl:

I have tried the toilet roll thing before and I found that they took too long to break down. Going to give it another shot though ;) I keep looking longingly out the window and planning grand changes to the side garden.
