I don't know what it's like in the Exeter direction, Dave but, from what I've read & seen on TV, forget it as far as Barney is concerned.
Tarka Line down & no replacement buses because they say they can't get through by road.

Braunton totally cut off (Caen burst it's banks) & someone is kayaking down the main road.

Meanwhile just here we can't tell much difference from every other day - wet, windy, downright miserable. :rotfl:
Sheep, ponies, deer all continuing to act as normal........ which pretty much involves non-stop grazing.
There's a slightly larger puddle then normal queuing up to go through the water courses & ponds but that's it. No idea if the neighbours in the valley have their heads above water, though.

    Edit
No need to go out either Rummer. Don't "do" Christmas so, hopefully, no need to go out shopping until after New Year now.
  • please dont shout today, i am a bit fragile this morning:cool::cool::cool::cool::rotfl::D

great social night last night, it wasnt an open party, just club members and close friends, so it was great

stitchie... so glad you posted.. sorry about the poo time you had....not long before 2013 is here, and lets hope it brings a far better year than2012.

the weather is so pants, they wernt wrong when they said it was going to rain heavy..

my chicken run is a total bog.. so going to leave everyone in today..

will seriously need to start thinking/planning about putting the chickens, geese etc up the new place..

right think it time for another cuppa...:D

  • Fancy you mentioning "Black Friday" CTC! I thought it wouldn't affect us as we weren't planning on going out but then......

At 2am we had the phone call every parent dreads "your son's in hospital after writing off his car, twice over the limit and lucky to be alive"

After dashing to the hospital I then did the last of the T*sco shopping and was home with the shopping by 5am. Then to police station to collect my normally very sensible 25 yr old son, dropped him back at his house and crawled back into bed at 8. I was cross with myself for giving in to sleep as we've both got soooooo much to do today.

He's fine, with just superficial wounds but very, very upset and feels he's ruined his life. All because of wet slippery roads, a couple of beers and an argument with his ex-girlfriend :mad::mad:

  • stitchie... omg.... nightmare..

even though i am EXTREMELY glad he is ok... i must say i really do hate drink driving...there is no excuse.. regardless of the probelm with ex-girlfriend and slippery roads... the main problem was the drink.... end of...not only could he have been seriously hurt, inocent people could have too..

lets hope he as seriously learned his lesson, and the fines/points, hike in insurance will make him realise its not worth it on so many lessons
( sorry stitchie.. drink driving just makes me mad)

last night eldest dropped us off at the club house, and then picked us up..he also dropped hubby and youngest off to work this morning, so hubby didint drive the morning after.

:( Has mabel got anywhere dry to stand, alfie. It could take a real toll on her feet if not.

    I've been Money Tipped!
We are coping ok with the wet here, Just the barn is a bit icky underfoot, but better than trashing the fields. When it freezes they can go out and nosh like fiends on grass. On the plus side.....it's mild enough to grow.

    Can't believe the weather :(

It make everything so much harder. I have to say I'm feeling bloody miserable. I was hoping to ge the van all packes upa nd everyhting washed for visiting rellos but the kids are underfoot and nothing can get done and OH is acting like he has a spike up his !!!!. So grumpy.

Glad to hear your son's okay, stitchie. What occurred to your "normally very sensible son" to behave like that? I'm afraid I agree with everyone else on this topic. Let's hope it is a lesson learned.

I had an employee who killed a cyclist following a Christmas night out, and then driving. Lovely girl, generally. She spent a year in prison....

Ah, but I didn't do Geography at uni for nothing! Got to Barney not long after you posted, but had to think things through a bit.
Made one error, which was just faulty memory really, but it meant we had to turn around and try something else.
