The previous owner here got lots of things from this place:

    http://www.deaconsnurseryfruits.co.uk/

I keep finding the labels, and usually the plants too, but not always together!

I have not checked their prices, but I think they are reputable. :)

Where would you guys receomend buying soft fruit bushes from? I'm assuming you can buy bare rooted stuff now?

Poundland and other pound stores have given us the best raspberry bushes :D I have paid a small fortune for ones from garden centres both local and online and they have died however the Poundland ones I bought are thriving.

Hehe, it's typical, isn't it. I'll have to wait til Ald do their sales again next year. We have no Poundland withing an hour's drive...

Our most amazing raspberries come from a Costco plant and whenever I get the chance it is being removed from Sheffield and brought to Wales....

    evening all.........

just had mega headless chook moments...............

laptop didnt work...didnt turn on ev en...:o
i sussed it was not charging battery through the lead... borro wed sons lead aaaaabut im having to holdd it with right hand and type with left...hence bad spelling :D
ive just used the "blue peter" remedy....sticky tape :D
today i thought id put a bale of hay in mabels house.. easy i hear you say...uuuuummmmm.

1st of all i was half way across her paddock when the strings on the bale seperated leaving me with an exposion of hay. i gathered it up and went to the back of her shed and chucked it through for her to sort out.
thinking it would make life easier for her i lugged a big water bowl nearer her house as she hates/tries to avoid, the mud nearby and as i got close i went to walk forward and I went forward but my feet didnt , flat on my face in the mud :D ...my boots had sunk to nearly knee height in the mud
i struggled to get up but couldnt get my boots free. i thought if i took each foot at a time out of the boot i could pull it out and re put it back on........not a hope.. 1st foot came out ok only for me to then fall flat on my back...in the mud.... and im talking DEEP mud.... by now mabel is looking at me as if to say " yeh, now you know what its like for me !:rotfl: ]
i was by now completely covered in mud and looked like something from shreks swamp...
i just pulled both feet out, hauled my boots out and plodded through the paddock in what cannot now be described as my socks...i plodded up the road in the by now rain to my house with drivers thinking goodness knows what......
every item of clothing is in a muddy heap on my kitchen floor :o

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Alfie! We used to have a field that was famous for causing incidents like that. In fact every summer you would see random riding boots and wellies scattered about where people had abandoned them in the winter :D

I am sitting frantically trying to finish some gifts I have been making and failing miserably :( maybe if I work every waking hour between now and the big day I may get them finished, mind you there would be no dinner to eat :rotfl:

Y'know, I used to come to this site to save money. More and more I'm noticing that I rarely spend money! Unless it can be eaten or grown...

On a consumer item, a 50% saving on something I'm not going to buy isn't a big deal :)
  • were you ok alfie? bl00dy pigs .... who'd ave um:D:rotfl:
