    I've been Money Tipped!
I love watching the chickens and geese operating apples. The geese stuff them selves with them.., 'saves me time' I tell them. ;). Panic not Alfie, I am only joking.

It's pelting down here, absoltuely pelting. Grim, grim, grim. Back garden is just sodden, and while we know traditionally opt was wet, (a pond a stream, a well, maybe a spring too) ihave only see it soggy like this since this year. Depressing.

It never actually dries out. Scratch the surface & the wet is lurking underneath.

Just some onions left from our crop - not that we tried to grow anything much this year ...... which was probably just as well given the glorious weather. :rotfl:

The things that are really flourishing this year are the mosses & lichens. Everything is turning green & I'm not going to even try to do a thing about it this side of next spring. Totally pointless.

 Time to get ready to hibernate.

We'd dried out quite a bit.:D I dug a hole about 40cm deep where there was surface water a week or so ago, and it was just normal, damp soil. The stream was back to a trickle too.

Not sure if we'll be fencing again tomorrow though. :(

We could be self-sufficient in onions if we could only get the right weather at harvesting time. Having the polytunnel helps, but it's taken an age to condition them for storage and I don't reckon they'll keep as long as they should. :(

Years ago, when we had an allotment, I'd harvest the onions, hang them in the shed and they seemed to last almost until we got the next lot. It just seemed automatic then, although I grew from sets, not seed, like I do now.

Some folks will be pleased if the development of more wind farms is put on hold, as suggested in today's news. That won't affect the one that's firing everyone up around here; the one we won't see because of a huge farm structure much closer to home. True, it doesn't make that much noise, and never at night, but it's still a massive black monolith in the otherwise fairly timeless landscape.... and it's also the reason this house is here!:rotfl:You didn't think I was going to complain, did you?
  • I am soooo flipping cold,

the boys are playing a gig in tow, so hubby has gone to see them, so I am here on my todd. no coal, no wood, so I am lying on the sofa, with a t. shirt, hoody, AND a coat on, with a duvet over me..

I think its time for a hot chocolate made with milk

CTC, shivery today, prob got chilled yesterday. Got wiped out at auction in Ross despite being so well prepared. People bidding at retail+ prices . One item sold at £75 + premium and you can buy it on Ebay at c£30. Hmmm, maybe an opportunity :)

Got fed up and really bid up to win some lovely cloisonne, which we'll keep I think, it is really beautiful.

As usual downbeat as we find the damage we missed when previewing, just 1 good lot in 14 atm. Okehampton, all is forgiven!!

P**ing down this evening, trick or treaters being bussed round, had one who wanted choccy treat that wouldnt trigger off her allergy...b****r!, wasnt well prepared enough :(

The apples have been terrible here this year, most of them fell off or are full of rot, the chickens refuse to eat them and the badgers have been in eating them. Even now when I've got a solar light and a alarm which goes off in the house, on the run, I'm still worried about the badgers coming back and having a go at the chucks.

I heard tonight that one was run down in the village, so although I'm a bit sad that one has been killed, I hope it's the one that got the taste and wherewithal to kill the chickens in the village last time.

We've the heating on for the first time tonight and it's lovely, but it's got me a bit worried about oil prices again, which we will need to be filled up soon if we have bad weather.

If I had alot of money, I could live a wonderful SS lifestyle :D

Turned dry this afternoon so got a little pruning done with the company of the chicks. Really wish I could let them all out but they are are segregated & each lot get their turn.

Roof sheeting comes tomorrow - hopefully the right colour this time.

Beautiful huge moon out there tonight. Cold here, but has been for a while with snow on the tops.

Lotus, prob its an age related thing but our heating has been on for a while, and the woodburner lit at nights for longer. It isnt comfortable working at the desktop in 16C, so lounge and study are usually 20C.

Choille, recall you got windows earlier so will roof sheeting get house watertight?

Packing to do, furthest destination Thailand. Had one guy call me last night (who I'd refunded for lost item) to say he'd just paid again (:j) as item had arrived after 3 1/2 weeks. Christmas post?

    Pouring down here :(
  • I've got a sore throat:o really hope I dont come down with a real bad cold, not now:mad:

Rhiwie what an honest ebayer, nice to see they are out there:T

Choille I bet you cant wait for the roof to be one

Hubby is picking the meat up later, I told him we should have only taken one.. I dont think he realises how much meat there is going to be:eek::rotfl:

Plus we are going to start taking our rails and stock down to the pop up shop tonight.. so its going to be a manic 36 hours..:D
