Oh dear, LIR. You have my sympathies. The vast majority of our building work had to be done during the winter so that we could trade as usual through the season ....... so I know it isn't fun. Moan away
:rotfl: rhiw, you're wicked. I'm sure DW would appreciate the shock of coming back to a spotless & tidy home
oldtractor - If you get a Russian cross will it be called Vulgar Volga?0 -
I love the word cwtch Rhiwie, there is no direct translation into english, for me it means a hug, snuggle up, safe, comfort, cosy, loving feeling.. my nan had a cupboard under the stairs, and she called that the cwtch...
Oldtractor. cool names, are they varwerks? I know what you mean about auctions:rotfl: We nearly bought a tractor about 2 years ago, only because it sounded like a bargin:cool::D

Now where would be the fun in that
Watched Countryfile earlier and was amazed at the number of swallows and martins at one farm, just filled the air.
Choille, still getting sales on Ebay but having to work really hard at it. Paying for insertion fees means you either concentrate on high value items or you price keenly to get a 50%+ successful sale rate on listings.0 -

Yesterday Olga ripped a nail but some blue antibiotic spray helped as it was bleeding a little.
she looked most fetching with a blue foot.
re pigs, I'd love to have pigs and a house cow, my DH's family had a Jersey house cow when he was little. Then I could make butter and cheese,. We have had milk goats in the past but I do prefer cows milk. Who knows, maybe one day????????????????????
And beware of auctions, we went just looking a few weeks ago and DH came home with a tractor.......................
Chickens are good fun:)
My family had jerseys. I love cows, more than most other 'farm' animals, but I personally would not keep one cow, even as a pampered hose cow. And I know I would struggle with the calf of a house cow. As it is, we have solved our dairy issue, and have it on tap, but from cows who don't produce very fatty milk, skimming the cream is rather thankless, not so bad now actually, but I just cannot be bothered ATM. I love cows milk, its much tastier IMO than goats, but goats win on the cheese front, and butter I am happy with either.0 -
Poop........ Poop...... and more poop....:D
I WAS STUCK INTO FATHOMING OUT MY "ART BUTTON" WHEN I SPOTTED ITSME'S BEATEN ME TO IT........BY A MILE :rotfl::rotfl:
.........after having a lie in, and thinking id missed the boot salemy sister rang and said something about clocks ? i asked her the time, she told me, i said goodbye and shot off to boot sale...:) not many there, some packing up but got a few bits...;)
i then went and fetched 2 of the pieces of the gifted furniture... got the old wardrobe and the bookcase/bureau.
took out part of my kitchen and put bookcase/B in there. takes all my china [plates, bowls etc] my saucepans AND i can hide all my letters etc in the bureau bit...:D had a major sort out of all sides and i can now see the wall behind the work surfaces :rotfl::rotfl: and ALL the floor...:D AND i found what a bottle of flash is capable of..:D
got early morning heathrow run... monday & M3 & morning = :eek:0 -
I think I had a touch of what you had today, lir. Maybe it was the horrible gloom after the glorious sunshine yesterday, but I even felt cold indoors.
The daytime polytunnel is quite pleasant now we've blanked off the side ventilation, but it plummets in there at night. No frost in the next 5 days though. Wind's gone round to the SW and all is well again......hopefully.
Vorwerks are a pure breed, though if they were hybrids they might still be giving us eggs at the mo, instead of just looking cute. They are busy and inquisitive, but there are no 'personalities' among them. Our new Sussex and the RIR are looking promisingly red around the combs now, so it won't be long....:)
No sign of Pete today, so I'm not sure if we're fencing tomorrow or not. His Mum isn't well, which is why we've not seen him sooner.
Like you, rhiwie, I've been home alone this weekend. DW has just rung to say she enjoyed some of Papas fish & chips in Weston-Super-Mud tonight, knowing full well our chippie is 13 miles from here and also closed! :mad:0 -
i just thought.thats the first time my dear old dad hasnt rung me to TELL me to put the clock back...:(0

CTC - If you use black paper don't forget that you won't need the black background. If you leave it on you'll just be printing black on black which would be a real waste of ink.
Oh alfie
At least, hopefully, you'll soon have the builder/plumber situation sorted for them & make their lives more comfortable.0 -

Its sad that as a child you look up to your dad and think he's strong and invincible. Then as you grow up you realise that physically, and maybe mentally, you start to overtake him.0
