My thoughts are with those who have/have had animal problems.
Congrats on becoming hen-pecked, oldtractor
Hope the building & plumbing issues get sorted choille & alfie.
Good luck with the shop, CTC.
Hoping everyone's aches & pains behave themselves.
It's one of those odd days when the sky is fairly bright but there's a permanent drizzle. Tonight the temperature is meant to plummet & tomorrow be brrrrrrrrr. Don't send the snow down to us too early, choille. It makes the winters seem so long when we have early snow.0 -
Katholicos, take care. Collie is probably upset too.
Dog dog has run upstairs like a speeding bullet twice now when unattended, or thinks she is unseen, to steal the cats food, so I am confident she will live.
Interesting that she is so hungry though.
Meanwhile trying to find some posts for tomorrow to go in where the hedge has come down. There is Going to be a crashj as peoe keep peering in here not looking at the road. Lol.0 -

Both Electricity & phone use the same poles. Here the wayleave agreement was with the electricity board. Several years ago now, instead of paying tiddly squit every year, they made one large payout on a sort of "That's it you get no more basis".
We get the leccy wayleave payment of about £40 a year, but this pole is much more recent. It's actually October 2007, not 2006, as I thought.
One local theory is that it was snuck in quietly, because the the Openreach field manager & Mr Dog are supposed to be mates. Mr D wouldn't want it in his garden, but because of its position, it could only have been erected from there. At that time, the undergrowth on our side was almost impenetrable.
All the info on the pole, including the original "If you object to this pole" notice, is only visible from Mr Dog's side, which means standing in the stream. Having the pole almost in the stream isn't very sensible either. :rotfl:
Anyway, I shall have a bit of fun with this. Firstly, I want my money, and then I want to see how they get on with running repairs, because Mr Dog, in an effort not to be seen, has planted a dense double row of conifers on his side of the stream. While Sea Buckthorn would be pretty good on our side to complement them, I think perhaps a boundary fence with triple barbed wire ought to go in first. We could even make the pole part of it, so long as we don't actually fix anything to it.0 -

I checked rugs at five, and the horses wearing the lightweights were warm, going up a grade would have been too warm. The other s are naked. Now I think I should have changes rugs.
Still, they have the barn and hay.0 -

I still remember the ferrets regularly as I walk past 'their' bushes.
Wilf is under a frothy white hydrangea, which sums up what he was like pretty well. Even on the way to the vets for that last time, he had just one more luxurious roll in the grass.
Eric is under a viburnum. It's a dependable sort of bush that flowers around the time when DD lost him, at the onset of winter. Eric was very much a one person ferret. When he was young he bit DD a few times, but she just used to bite him right back! I stopped worrying about DD after that...:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Alf!! You're pulling out all the stops to win the challenge0 -
