aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! ive been sat here trying to work out what a buzzing sound was .... i now know !!

a HUGE hornet was behind me on the sofa back .... im sorry to say it is no more....:( couldnt risk a grumpy hornet ....

didnt think theyde be about yet.. i usually get a nest in the eaves summer time...will have to keep my eyes peeled as iv no idea why/how it was indoors....
After this mild winter, I reckon it's anybodies guess, could have been a queen searching for a nest, could have been an overwintered worker.
I would have thought too early for a new year worker, but as I said, this mild winter has thrown up all kinds of oddities.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

We saw bees about a while ago, none recently, but it was a shock.

Ah, thats a point...i was going t put the snowballs on the bit of land where the miner bees were, that might have been a bad idea, hmm, rethink.

Right, anyone here want the tractor powered generator that needs a bit fixed...alfies bloke to,d me that, i had no idea. Otherwise i am gonna have to arrange to sell it.

Yes, I moved a bumble bee when I was outside working last week. I've also been chasing a housefly around indoors today.
It's hardly been that warm here perched on a hill with a howling wind.

I'd be having a good root about if I was you, too, alfie. I would want to make sure that they hadn't found a way through from where they've been nesting to indoors

    First of all....

I DONT LIKE AUCTIONS, well house buying ones...... they dont tell you on the property auction programmes.... about the stress......the loss of sleep, the sickness.... and not to mention running back and fore to the loo every 5 minutes...:o

As Davesnave said, my last post wasnt long before the auction was due to start....I had just had the phone call from the guy who was going to be doing the telephone bidding for me....( what a lovely guy)..

By then, you had guessed it... I had every emotion running through me.....( literly:rotfl:)...

    Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

He then phoned me back when the auction was just about to start......what i found out later there were 4 people bidding ( including myself) up to a certain price.... and i was winning:beer: and it felt like a long pause... and i thought great..... but then a new bidder started to bid:mad:......( hiss....boo.....)

so the battle was between me and him...... I went over my budget... and then over my over.....and tht was it.... we put our last bid in... as i knew we had allready gone well over.

My Head was in my hands... ( draped over my desk in work) shaking... thinking.... thats it..... i cant cope anymore....and i heard the words ....( well i did hear some other words before it, but they were the auctioneers)

    CONGRATUALTIONS

When i put the phone down.. i was a bath of sweat, physically tembling uncontrollably.....

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i waited until now, because, 3 years ago today the daydream thread was started:j

But now...... i cant sleep, because.... i am thinking, what the heck have i done...... as now..... we owe more money than we ever did....and a big sum has got to be paid off by september.......soooooooooo now no playing games....the easy part is over ( compared to what is to come fiancially and emtionally etc)

so this is going to be a very long on going project:rotfl:..

so now we are the proud owners of a little smallholding of 1.5 acres ( 3rd of an acre garden and the rest is rough ground with loads of trees and over growth etc) and a cottage, which needs major work...

I will not post a link, but if anyone would like a nosey.. i can pm you a link....

    Whoo-hoo!!!
    That's fantastic news CTC!!!!! party-smiley-020.gif

I'm lost for words.....!!!:o Although the others are probably tucked-up in bed, they'll have a great surprise in the morning! We've been with you at other times when you tried to make the Daydream real, and each disappointment has touched our lives too.

After you decided against the last one, we said there'd be something better around the corner. Of course we'd no way of knowing for sure, but this one comes with a house, and a good-sized house too. :) You do have that bolt-hole from the builders now!

And although the auction was a total nightmare , the fact that others also wanted the property is very reassuring. You don't get that with an uncontested purchase. ;)

I'm off to get a drink now:beer:.....maybe even two!! Cheers!!!!!

I am still coming out in cold sweats every time i think about the auction..., but on saying that i can not recommend the 'girls' at the local estate agents enough...:T At the veiwings etc.. they could feel my emotions so to speak....and were wishing i would get it.... even though we done a telephone bid, we went straight down to the auction venue to pay more towards the deposit ( had left a cheque in the EA office along with phone bid details etc).. When i got there i they told me i had to phone the office i was dealing with to tell 'Avril' i had won...... When i phoned on the way back, they told me that they allready knew:eek: as they had had a phone call form one of the bidders saying how much it went for, and it was a telephone bidder:D...he wanted to know if things feel through, that he would like to be contacted.. as he was still interested...so yep i guess mr fiddler is playing here at the mo....lol...

SO as you say Davesnave.... its reassuring that this property was in demand.....soooooooooo if in the future we needed to sell, ( flip havent even been 24hrs and i am talking about selling) we know there would be a genuine interest in the property, and i dont think it would be for sale for long...Not like our present home.... which was on the market for ages before we bought it, and now it wouldnt have a chance of getting a good price or sell...

I think i must have cat napped last night ( COULDNT SLEEP) with a big cheesey grin on my face...:D....so i am truely going to savour this 'kid at christmas' feeling, before the well at truely feeling of ...

    PANIC.....

OOOOO !!!!!! WHAT HAVE I GONE AND DONE...

SAying to my self.... you stupid person.. you knew you couldnt afford it...( but i would have rathered owned it for a while, and not at all) ( rather to have loved, and not loved at all, or something like that:rotfl:)

But.... in all my excitment.....I forget to congratulate our Rhiwfield on the flog it auction on the 21?/3...:T
so will you be on tv? will we see mr & mes rhiwfield? and the most important thing.....DID YOU MAKE SOME GOOD WONGA:D

I would love for you to come and see my new place rhiwfield... and maybe give me some ideas about how to organise... the garden... .

Also i have an 2 flavoured apple tree...which has been in the chicken run for quite a few years, so the roots etc will be well established..... its not huge.... ( the 2 flavours must have been grafted onto a small rootstock) could i dig it up ( so i should imagine there would be some root damage) and take it over to the new place? as i might actually get some apples from it, the chickens purch on the very thing branches.... eat the leaves.... and love the baby apples:rotfl:

flip you can tell i am excited... i cant stop talking:p

Oh ctc, how super, i am so happy for you!

I want to see details but pm box is full....may i pm you later?

Its super to get such a desirable little place, and i think that is a perfect amount of land for most people, so it will stay desirable...you will be able to work it by hand and it will hold value in having possibilities as residential or small holding use!

Now.....we get a desciption of the garden....is there anywhere to live yet?

    Oh hurrah!

I'd love to come over to see it once you've completed the paperwork.

No, we didnt go the flog it route, just entered lots as normal. Flog it take about 30 lots out of the 650 lot auction. And yes, I'll make some wonga if they sell at low estimate, and no, we'll avoid the telly like the plague. Wouldnt want to put you off your dinner!

Anyway, today is your day, after all this time you've made it happen. This'll put the twinkle back in your eye :D
