Gosh I have butterflies just waiting to hear! Can't imagine how she has been feeling all day!
Been thinking about a wood colour scheme for the garden, I want it to be beautiful and relaxing.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Goodness, been out of the loop a bit as DW hadnt recovered after all and went downhill for a while. Think she's Ok now, but watching her like a hawk.
CTC, fingers crossed!
Lir, truss to a bloke can have negative connotations
Alf, you're a gem, thanks for message :T
Just managed to keep the Bay going, losers and winners (thank you Dinky!) with two items listed in a Flog It auction 21/3.
Today both of us managed to work on stuff to be listed and it really makes a positive difference.
But must get balance between Bay and garden right :cool:0 -
Hope all's well CTC.
Disgusting weather still - really fierce gales yet the forecast at 6pm was winds to increase in the NW - they never get it right. Was watching wonderful mini tornados sweeping up the Loch earlier today.
Got a couple of planks on the house between showers.
By 'Land Grab' CTC I was meaning that someone is trying to aquire some common land by dubious means & for dubious reasons.
Hope the weather picks up soon & I can get some much needed gardening done.0 -
There wasn't a cloud in the sky here today. It was beautiful, although a bit chill.Hope all's well CTC.

You may find that parts of your land have different microclimates.
I was up on the road hedge this afternoon, cutting back all the growth that managed to get too close to the fence last year, especially the prickly stuff. I had quite a breezy and cold afternoon, but DW, in the garden sorting perennials, had a calmer and relatively warm time.
The road hedge isn't that much higher than the garden, but there's nothing to the west or south west of it, so the wind on a day like today just sweeps along it. Noticed this many times.0 -

It's bloody breezy on that thar hill! I can see myself spending a lot of time in the dell and I'm already seriously wondering about a high wall in the wonderfully south west facing but very exposed field. I always fancied a walled garden, but not for those reasons! You may find that parts of your land have different microclimates.

i get a south, south westerly wind usually !!
im luckily surrounded on 3 sides by trees which block the other directions... but when it does hit me it is horrendous if its strong. i have a 4ft wall with 4ft railings on at the front but it comes over it like a tank ! cant have chairs ,table etc out or its gone !
the wind comes past the needles [iow], across the adjacent field and walla...its mine ! thankfully not too often...0 -
Remind me if & when we move & you can have our garden furniture, alfie. It won't blow away but you may not be able to pick a chair up to move it
It's incredibly heavy. 0
