I slept in after that bloomin' drink, and the hens were not pleased! DW is on medication for a bug, so she was still out for the count and didn't know! :o:D

    Once again, congratulations!

Must admit, I didn't think you'd get it, as the place seems to have so much potential. For that reason, I was worried about bigging it up too much! :)

Yes, it will take a while (and ££) to sort it all out, but you're young enough......Well, a good bit younger than me, anyway! :rotfl:
re the bit i bigged and bolded, i told you those cows getting out yesterday was good luck. (at least for the cows). :)

And it does look a great buy!

I haven't got my email yet! Can't see it!

I've almost finished armouring my hen house, a badger is going to need wire cutters and a chainsaw to be able to get into it.

But all the extra weight has made it a bit difficult to move! So I'm going to put wheels on one end, the plan is to leave the axle on all the time, then just slip the wheels on each side when I want to move it.
Should be simple and this way I get the house to stay firmly on the ground, with no inviting gaps underneath.
I did think about a complicated arrangement where you lifted a lever to make the wheels come down, but it seems a bit of an overkill, unless someone has other ideas?

I have a house with a lever and hate it. The lever is heavy and sticks and the bottom part of the house always needs repairs due to the strain upon it.

I am thinking about getting a pretty summer house for the snowballs, and throwing some quail in with them too.

As a lurker and reader of this thread...not a daydreamer myself as hubby does not share the dream with me...I just want to say how very very pleased I am for you CTC. I've read about all your high's and low's and how much you have wanted the dream and now it's coming true...well done you :)

This seems like a clever way to do the wheels (at the bottom of the page)

But would have to be substantial to support mine and I have visions of foot crushing going on. I think I'll just stick with the original plan for the moment.

Thanks LIR's always good to get real feedback re good ideas :D

thanks Fay..... you never know, maybe one day oh will be able to be pursueded;)

    emails sent:D

I know what oyu mean about the property Davesnave, even though there is a !!!!!! load of work and expense too, but this potentially could have been a developers dream property.... the BIG drawback... would have been the public footpath running right through and infront of the house...as we know the area, and one of our friends has an approved livery stables really close by... we know it is used on a regular basis for people to get to the next village.. so it is a bit of a 'rat run' ( sorry lotus for mentioning the 'R' word..... which in one way could be a pain in the butt, with privacy ( and dog poo) but i am not thinking of it like that... maybe one day we could turn it into our advantage by putting a table or some sort of little shed, with doors open right by the path with surplus eggs etc for sale...

PLUS ... if it didnt have the footpath, then we most def wouldnt be having this conversation on the daydream thread anniversary....
