Most of the time we don't have to get the wire or tape out to use electric - only really when they need rationing.
The bigger boy has a healthy respect for electric fences but, unfortunately, the mini treats them like a hot knife through butter :rotfl:
I've never quite worked out if he just doesn't feel anything at all or, arrogant little stallion that he is, he thinks it would be unmanly to admit it
Of course, if he takes the fence down the big one tip-toes across behind him.0 -

So do we, and I love it. We're about 60' back, but I'm sure the people on the bus can see me in my PJs in the winter mornings. None of that bothers me, and if I want private, I can just go around the back.
We wanted to be on a road that had just the right amount of 'life,' which for me, means a vehicle every five minutes or so. Sometimes it's a bit busier than that; today I saw a bus, a van and a tractor with a muck wagon, all at the same time. I bet you can work out they weren't in that order, though!0 -

It might not be the most exciting news of the day on the thread
But I have my new chickens!
A cream legbar and a couple of hybrids, one white (and eggs) and one dark green, black face, unknown, brown eggs apparently.
I got them from this really nice place, which I just have to give a naming, as he was so great. It's Mini Meadows farm, near Welford northamptonshire.
It was so well run, clean, the birds were in perfect condition(s), I absolutely couldn't fault it. They were very friendly, it's obvious they are very honest people as well.
I won't say they were cheap, @ £60 for the 3 and that was with a fiver off, but compared to anywhere we've bought chickens before, this place is in another league entirely.
The chickens are home, in the badger proof house, so hopefully they will still be there in the morningFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I love cream legbarrs lotus. Unlike their reputation i do not find them overly flighty......not compared to say my sicilian buttercup who is practically feral.0
