howd ya get on CTC ??????????0
-
right CTC..... heres a load of gumpf re the pit/maps/your place....no idea what half of it means but someone might ....
so...either a load of sh*te or gold:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The NGR for the Old Primrose is slightly out,its part Old part New
Old Primrose at 736026
New Primrose at 739024
theTinworks was supplied with coal from the Cwmnantllwyd Pit,the old tramway was visible back in the 70`s
The Old Primrose was at grid ref. 736024. It mainly worked the Graigola Six-Feet seam at a thickness of 66 inches and approx 200 yards underground. It was owned by Morgan and Lewis in 1858 (possibly the Tawe Collieries Ltd.) when on Wednesday 14th of October at 08.30 an explosion killed 12 miners and 7 horses, two others died in rescue attempts. It closed in March 1910.
There was also a tramway running through Alltwen to the Pontardawe Tin Plate Works on the southern edge of the modern Rhos settlement
not sure if this helps/confuses finding what MAY be on YOUR land ???

Thanks all.
Just caught up with posts. Just gliding along at the mo - pottering & getting massive waves of exhaustion, so pleased that the weather is torrential & suitably gloomy in a way. Alway less guilt enducing when nasty out & you can't be doing with doing much in any case I think.
Poor Mr Choille doing all the chores. He gets to escape tomorrow for a few hours while the car must be MOT'd.
It seems that we are catching up with water - I think the gales & downpours are badly affecting many places. Seems a bit of land slippage down the road - but not bad really - think we being kinda more prone to high rain fall - what's gonna slip has slipped.
I do think a lot of flooding is planners at fault - allowing building on flood plains etc. But that's too simplistic.

Choille, I doubt very much that you're enjoying the enforced rest. Get better soon.
Alf, you should be able to access that challenge link with no probs now.
Our chooks are 3 yo but still lay an egg a day each in the lighter months, just now starting to slow down. Toms still producing but some rot on side stems so not sure for much longet. There is precious little that can be done outside atm, not that I can do any heavy work.
Still, just had a quick gander at the Ebay challenge opposition to see how far I'm falling behind and its not as bad as I feared. Photoing and turbo listing today and will be uploading again tomorrow night to end a week Sunday to start to give the ladies a decent run for their money
Decided finally to go with Tmobile for the dongle after sending back the O2. Cant miss my daily fix of MSE when away, never mind dealing with all the Bay queriesJust found out that Devon libraries let you use their wifi free, so may well use that for research to avoid too much data use. Hope to hit two auctions and a car boot, as well as some indulgent relaxation, so plan to return with a car full of goodies

See that Schmallenberg virus found in 3 cows in Ceredigion. Was expecting to see it first in East Wales so not good news0

Not a lot to report here, but we seem to have had two reasonably good days when others have been suffering more watery grief.
Our chooks have mostly stopped laying now. We really need to move them into their new quarters, but FiL has taken it upon himself to design and make the perches + the new gate. I'm not complaining, but it means sourcing the wood, driving it 80 miles, then going back to collect the finished products....hardly quick, or eco!Looking at the weather, that might be Friday or Saturday.....:mad:...but I really want to use one of those for a garden visit, which I think we both need for re-charging the enthusiasm batteries. RHS members get limited free access to other gardens at this time of year....and I don't need to tell you it's the seeding season too!
Might be Cannington, Marwood or Coleton Fishacre....well, that covers three points of the compass!
Having done a bit of thinking, I've found myself returning to some of the ideas I had originally for this place, including increasing the coppice area. It's pretty easy to source free saplings here, so that would give us a racing start. We have a steeper bit that will never be more than a bit of extra sheep grazing, so I think we'll go for it.0 -

Hmmm, as none of us are Bay virgins I expect it to be a close run thing. And nothing would please me more than each of us raising £1000s for our individual dreams. Cos who wins isnt the point,,,,,,,,er....um....
OH YES IT IS!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Re the techno question, I'd post in the techie forum as well, just dont quote the heron/wolf tale to them0
