  • laptop cable has gone awol again in the house, ( its the battery charger one) bought a new one from maplins a few months back, and it has gone caput.. so need to take that back tonight for a new one..

Wow yesturday at the archives.. ..it is VERY time consuming, but VERY injoyable...

managed to see the actual rents book for the gwyn estate... they must have been mega loaded:D

Going to go back next week, and hopefully spend the hole day there, as trying to locate the place by using field maps:eek: to then try and get reference numbers to certain things:o

sooooo managed to get the census for 1941 and the house is on there.. but it is only refered to by the last part of the house name, which is also the last part of a name of a local farm, so i need to clarify it is referring to our place..

also on the maps it show one property, and then on later maps it shows the house being split into 2...

    so I am totally boggled:rotfl:

Right better get back to work:o

p.s been slow on listing on fleabay, Alfie, glad that rummaging around for the old radiator, has made you discover some things for the bay:T

for all you techno anoraks.....sorry experts :D

is this [below] what im hoping it is..

4GB 9” tablet with Google Android 4 OS
Functions include e-reader, internet browsing, and multimedia player
    Android Marketplace accessibility
    Wi-Fi technology
    Includes 0.3MP camera

    £90 :D or :(

No idea, but make sure the thing doesn't have a fridge in it, like this new computer of mine, which blows out cold air and freezes my right leg!!!:eek:

Apparently, it's supposed to keep the chip cool, but any idiot knows that chips are better hot.... Technobabble! :p

On another equally unrelated point, my dentist lady laughed at the NHS filling I'd had done, expressed great surprise that dentists actually exist in this neck of the woods, speedily repaired two damaged teeth and relieved me of enough money to buy an electric chainsaw and a saw horse. :(:( That's what I'm planning to do for the log processing in the barn, rather than run a petrol machine there. ;)

It's reclaimed, architectural salvage or, to you & me, 2nd hand/used.

Dave - As far as dentists existing in this neck of the woods, she was just about right. There are a few individuals who'll poke around in pretence but ...... dentists? The good ones all seem to have retired :(
Incidentally...... did you know that we Brits are seemingly well-known for our dreadful looking chompers? In the same way as we Brits tend to slightly take the mick out of Americans gleaming, even & seemingly enormous teeth, we are known for having mouthfuls of broken & gappy tombstones.

Yeah, that's why I'm so afraid!

I'll even part with my hard-earned for the skills of an overseas-trained specialist in cosmetic dentistry. :o

Lurker's eyes agleam at this... tell me which chainsaw you'd recommend.

I can't afford one anyway, neither can I afford the dentist, just trying to throw everything I can at debts whilst DD is still living here, willing to do the animals after work, thus enabling me to work late to rake in overtime whenever possible. Maybe the family can buy one for Christmas.

I have a lot of wood to cut up, though only for an open fire, the multifuel stove with a DOOR will have to wait yet another winter (as it has done for 20 years!). The oil heating is NOT going on unless DDs pay for a delivery. One has 90% moved out, the other wants to, and just might do so if the house stays cold.

I wouldn't recommend any of them if you haven't the proper helmet, boots & trousers. ;)

But the chainsaw I have in mind is dirt cheap, as thse things go:

    http://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb355chn-40-5cm-2000w-electric-chainsaw-230v/92771

Doesn't get bad reviews, and customers on that site are not slow to find fault.

If it's clamped to one of the saw horses that support a chain saw, then it would probably be a bit safer too. :D

As the others might tell you, I'm a bit accident-prone! :o
