CTC, most people would not have the space to display that. But one or two might. If the quality is good enough I'd be tempted to put a very high price BIN with lots of individual photos. If it doesnt sell, then split it.

Re army, I share your sadness, but also think that with fewer forces, we might just see less intervention in regime change conflicts that the politicians of the day think is the right thing to do. I'd rather the politicians took up the rifles and went themselves.

Dave good luck with selling - hope it all goes to plan.

    RAS - lovely house.

CTC - Agree with keeping it whole to start with. I too hope it's a free listing as sorted out some more stuff I can sell.

LIR - all the best with the eye tests - hope all is well & a minor blip.

Hot here today & got eaten with cleggs as we attempted to clear a patch of bracken. Shifted the sheep up to the hill - that went so smooth & the road went really quiet ( we have to cross the road to shift them) all ways happier once it's done. They're charging around, kicking up their heels - great to see. Their fields need resting.

Massive sudden cloud bursts earlier & massive thunder cracks. We could hear the rain hammering on the Loch before it struck us (the rain)- it was so bizarre. All the rocks were steaming afterwards.

Had salad & rasps for afters for tea - mmmmmmmmmmmmmm - my favorite fruit & they are better this year than ever been. Must be all that chicken dung I whacked on the bases.

Funny day tomorrow - we ( two townships) have the crofting commission coming out as there are a few complaints about things, so off down to a meeting in the afternoon. I think there will be platitudes & little else. The nutter neighbour will be there.......would rather be getting eaten by cleggs, but sometimes you can't get to play outside all the time.

Last night we went down to a beautiful sandy beach to get shale for the hens & the sky was red & fish were leaping up in the air - it was hot at 10.30pm.
    The caravan is cooking.

The garden sale should be fine, After all, they're getting a bargain, the people who bought my old house wouldn't have wanted the land for personal use, and we're quids-in. Everyone's a winner. :D

I just wish the purchasers had shown a bit more grace in the negotiations. They could have had it months ago, had they played fair.;)

Glad you are getting decent weather, thunderstorms notwithstanding.:) Here, it was really calm, if dull, this evening. With the church bells ringing out over the valley, I started to remember why we live in this area.

If you are organic, you won't be wanting Asulox, which is due to be withdrawn soon. I treated my bracken with that last year, and this year it just didn't come up again. We didn't have a lot of it, but it was creeping in from the hedges and I couldn't pull the stuff behind the sheep wire.

Asulox I believe is the most effective thing for bracken & is relatively safe???? Yet, they are withdrawing it. I'm wasting so much time attempting to get rid of bracken it's become obsessive & not effective. It's depressing.
I'm pulling it out & putting my back out & everything else is out of control:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I managed to get some Round Up cheapish & will do a test patch if we get a still, dry day.

I'm pleased about the sale you've had. I'm sure everyone will benefit.

Yep, we used Asulox & it was great.
Being in the area we are, bracken is a widespread problem made worse by neighbouring land which isn't treated.
The upland & hill farmers were really peeved at the ban. I know there was a stay of execution for just over a year, I think, but the ban is going to make life much harder for lots of people. We've yet to find anything that's close to it in efficiency.
It's pretty good on docks, too.

I am in a bit of quadtry???

I have a lovely bit of barkcloth which has a country scene with a horse rider etc the measurements are 46'' wide, and 502'' long:D

now do i cut it in half and sell it in two lots, or sell it in one lot?

    what do you think?

Never cut a vintage piece of fabric in half! Loss of history I guess. But what do I know?

thanks for the comments on the material.....will try and post some pics for you. its 1950's barkcloth.

Anyway had an email at 4am this morning, and my hunch was right it is a free listing weekend:beer:

soooooooooooooo with all this rain that we are having over the weekend, I think there is nothing else to do but list on ebay:D

Will start getting the pics done today, so i will just be infront of the computer saturday afternoon, and the rest of the weekend...

The JCB guy who suposed to have turned up a few weeks ago, actually phoned yesturday and said he will be at the new place tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed, as once he clears part of the ground ( rhiwie knows the story and whats there) then we can start getting a part of it fenced for some pigs:T

Right want to get into work earlier today, loads of work to do...lol

I probably have enough to see me out, as I don't envisage using any more for a long time. :)

    Lucky you :D

You really must have very little & no problem in the surrounding area. Even with Asulox it's an annual job around here.
The farmers keep it under control but the charity-who-will-remain-nameless-but-you-all-know-who-I-mean :wall: :D does absolutely nothing with their land here at all so the bracken, thistles, foxgloves, ragwort just increases year on year.
Fields which were privately owned & in good order when we came here but have been bought by the charity are now disappearing under the stuff. :(
Then they wonder why so many of their visitors & volunteers end up plastered in ticks. :rotfl:

We started off being very green & strimming/scything everywhere. 3 days a week throughout the summer :(
In the end you throw your hands up in the air & turn to the (plastic) bottle. ;):D
